Mamacitas. From my hometown. That being said, I noticed and certainly appreciated the tortilla machine, but you make it sound like you were just standing titties pressed up against the glass drool coming down

Best Mexican Food in Every Major Texas City:
Houston: Original Ninfas
SA: Alamo Cafe maybe? Been awhile.
Austin: All of them.
Dallas: None of them
I've got other cities like beaumont/Waco/Odessa too but offhand that's my list

I've had better (and cheaper) Mexican food at construction site food trucks than at Ninfas (or their equally overpriced neighbor El Tiempo).

Bashing Ninfa's and El Tiempo without providing your preferred alternate
I agree they are both too pricey, but the foods great and thats what the market calls for.

AC is still legit, but I gotta go with Tomatillo's Restaurant Y Cantina (on Broadway).

CocoLoco was my spot in college for a TexMex fix.

It’s still around, albeit under a new name and different location. It’s now Polly’s Cocina on the corner of welborn & rock prairie, next door to a gas station. I believe they had to change their name several years ago because of the Dallas chain of the same name.

That Dallas chain was the most overhyped POS overpriced crap I've had in a while. They opened one in the Woodlands, but it didn't last long. Their brisket tacos were straight flavorless doodoo.

I don't think it's great...not for the price. It's good, but that's it. I personally would rather drive to the north side and get some tacos from the "El Taconazo" food truck. Simple menu, simple food. Just like Mexicans intended it to be.
Too many people have overhyped those two joints on navigation. Gentrification probably has something to do with it. But then again, Tex Mex ain't my thing.

I believe the owner cashed out and retired. Los Nortenos was the best Tex-Mex in B/CS. The best Mexican food was La Perla, but I believe they moved locations and I haven't tried it since then. Maybe I'll venture out there this weekend. It's deep in Bryan, so it should scare away any parents that are in town for parents weekend
EDIT: Yup, Los Norteños closed down. Motherfricking gentrification is a bitch!

Motherfrickers don't understand that there is a fricking difference between Mexican fare and Tex-Mex
I happen to like both, but damn people get lazy/sloppy with their classifications. One must prepare one's palate differently to consume either, so when a brotha gets played, it's not a good time

Unless you've experienced bartering for the price of your meal you've never experienced real Mexican food.
Our state is majority Hispanic. Technically all food is Mexican food if you really think about it.

Original Ninfas is good I'm not really sure how so many "Houstonians" (I say that I quotes because they only moved there in 2008) bitch about that place. If they knew the history you'd know that place (and more importantly that family) is a staple of Houston and has always maintained a reputation as best in town.
If you want cheap go to Lupe Tortilla.

Even our Chinese food is Mexican.
Only in Texas can you go to an Asian restaurant were the food is prepared by Mexicans, served by a black waitress, and then get billed for it by middle easterner.
Ain't Texas fricking great?!
