Am I less of an Aggy if I said I never went to Chilifest? The thought of mud, shitty music, sun burns, and vomit doesn't sound like much fun to me. I could go to NG and get hammered far easier and more efficiently.

It's a great time. All the Texas country artists always put on good shows

No, but I'd encourage any current student (besides my sister) to give it a shot. I love Texas country, so I go to the shows, but my roommate is from Spain, and he didn't even know even was a stage until his third go round. We had a DJ at our builds, so a lot of peope never left that area. If you drink beer, Chilifest hammered is about as efficient as it gets . Never had any vomit encounters, but I will say the port a pottys are pretty gnarly by the end of day 2

You never know actually, you have to assume that plenty of people at Exxon know plenty of people at Conoco?

Never went either. I don't remember if other commitments kept me from going or if it was just a "meh" sort of thing

When describing us I wonder if he mistakes passion for being mad at him. Who knows maybe our twitterazzi are more hostile than I imagine.

We're not O&G, we bid all the civil on a 38,000 barrel a day refinery and tank farm.

I was part of adding to Lyon dell 20+ years ago when I worked at Fluor Daniel though

Ahh okay. Im from League City and normally Channelview = plants or refineries.

I am working on a 3 year gig in Sweeny Texas with Phillips 66. Double my pay and long term gig. Sick of hotels and traveling.

Yeah I told myself years ago I'd never go back and the company I work doesn't do that kind of work but this one kinda fell into their laps and I'm the only one who knows anything about what's involved with it and I'm not looking forward to their force accelerated learning curve. If we get it it'll pay enough to be worth doing because it's hard money so we bid it completely worse case scenario so it's gonna pay really well if things go even halfway right

Do you mind saying who you're with? I remember you said you did some work for our rotary furnace, so I'm curious.

We built your new building and yard. You pass our yard every day when you turn left after you cross the RR tracks on your way to work.

Ok I figured it was them since they do a lot of work for us, but wasn't sure. You haven't dealt with our saw shop project, have you?

It's small potatoes compared to other projects we have here.

I personally haven't but I'm sure we have at some point, we are building y'all's Met Lab at the moment. If your ever out and about I'm the guy in the 1/2 ton ford with the aluminum diamond plate bed boxes and cover with all the tattoos, come say hi.

Alright, will do.
Being out and about is probably 90% of my day, though I mainly deal with the saw shop and forge areas.

Well I'm not over there very much unless it's a big project. The smaller ones I'm in and out pretty quick that damn DG80 gives me a headache.

I've never been. It was growing in the late 90's, but still considered largely a Greek event. I worked in bars, so I was usually either working that weekend or just didn't give a crap about going and neither did any of my friends. I guess if we weren't working we enjoyed the smaller crowds at the bars.

And I went to plenty of Texas music shows in college, just never to Chilifest.
