The application Kodi plus many of the sports plugins can get you there:

The only issue is you need a system that can run Kodi, my house is filled with hacked Chromeboxes just for that task.

I thought so too, but SlingTV gives me all the ESPNs which is basically the only thing I can't live without.

I hear ya.

Idk, I've kind of gotten into watching programming in addition to ESPN. Also keep cable around because of the random shows wifey likes.

Maybe I will down the road, but I think I'd hate it right now with my current viewing habits.

I think they added a way to get around the blackout rules this year for mlb.tv. I can't remember what it is but look it up, I want to say if you paid an extra fee you can stream in market games now.

The Astros are the main thing keeping me from cutting

I have for a long time. Get a roku and combine it with sling, Netflix, Hulu, and HBO now. You will pay about 50 dollars less even if you upgrade to the fastest internet. Watch all your sports on watch ESPN which is supported by your sling account. Get antenna for CBS HD (without a doubt available in every major metro)

For the woman shows tbird references, my wife just buys the dvd with ebates points for her bravo shows.

Truly if you watch more tv than this you deserve a kick in the arse anyway. I'm like 5 months behind on the stuff I watch and get the main sports channels including sec network.

That's how you get SECN alternate. Sling doesn't have it but you can get it through watch ESPN based on your sling subscription.

And if you have a roku you watch on your tv like normal

Pretty much. Roku is just a streaming device that lets you register for subscription-based apps.

In 10 years all our tv is going to be through the Internet.

No, not even close

Most small towns and rural areas don't have and won't have the infrastructure for this

There will still be commercials for network tv. It will just be delivered through the Internet.

Lol, I am no master. I would start by messing with Kodi on some computer you have, any modern laptop/desktop will do. Install the app and then install the fusion installer via this guide:

LINK

After you have that you can search for the sports plugins, which should load underneath Video Addons. If you like it on the PC there are ways to get it installed on more entertainment system friendly devices (like the Chromebox).

The sky is the limit with Kodi, it is very customizable. My main TV has a custom water-cooled rig under it I built just for entertainment use and it has the ability to play any Blu Ray or DVD we have ever owned, stream any local TV station, play any of my old console games (Wii and before), and access those streaming plugins all via Kodi. The trick it is doesn't play well with mainstream options like Netflix or Hulu Plus so you need a Roku too so it can all get pricy.

If you need more help I will be happy to email you sometime.
