The disappointment was caused by the difficulty of this conference. We all beat each other up. It's very competitive.

Since "you're wrong" doesn't quite do it, let's look at the other top divisions in college football this year.

From the ACC we have the Atlantic division. I sure to wish we had Boston College, Syracuse, NC State, and Wake Forest to pad our stats against.

The Big 12 is a super division of cupcakes.

Big Ten East has Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State, and Rutgers. Again, tray of cupcakes.

The PAC 12 North has half of their teams at sub 0.500. The South does as well.

Tell me again how the SEC West isn't the hardest division in College Football this year.

November next year will be a bloodbath but I could see us getting to Bama Oct. 7 as undefeated. That would mean we would have six wins after the Lobos, add in one win we can't expect to get right now (sad Mississippi State is in that category) and you are looking at eight wins after a bowl win.

It could easily happen.

We had two cupcakes in our division and lost to them. The SEC really was not spectacular this year at all. If you think we would beat teams like Wake, NC State, Indiana, Minnesota, UCLA, Oregon or Michigan State easily right now I don't know what to tell you. We went to OT against one of those PAC 12 South cupcakes at home when both teams were at full strength.

I know our fans love to tout the S-E-C S-E-C bullshite but this conference was down in a big way this year and we failed to take advantage of it.

Yup, Ole Miss couldn't beat Vandy and we let them beat us on our homefield with a true Freshman making his 1st career start

Mississippi State lost to 5-5 South Alabama, 6-5 Kentucky, and managed to beat us

You have to go back to RC to find a year where we started off ranked high in the preseason and then stayed within the top 25.

in 2013 we began the season 7th and ended 18th.

Georgia couldn't beat Vandy.

Auburn couldn't beat Georgia.

We can play transitive property of football all day. That doesn't mean anything. The SEC West is still the best division in College Football. Our top 2 or top 3 may not be as good as other divisions this year, but our entire division is competitive. It is harder to win football games here. That was the point.

The SECW is harder to win in year to year. My overall problem with Sumlin is the lack of progression and getting overwhelmed physically by 3 or 4 teams every year.

Also, the clusterfricks we have had at QB. JFF was good enough to get it done but he was out of control off the field. Kenny Hill... Out of control off the field.

Kyler Murray. We made this little frick feel like his shite didn't stink DURING recruiting... much less as a player. Sumlin lost that team because of that BS. Both QBs transferred because of the clusterfrick that Sumlin allowed. We lose Tate Martell because of this kind of shite.

There are other red flags that should be of concern beyond just what is happening on game day. Not sure A&M will fine with Sumlin for a number of reasons. Can you be satisfied with Sumlin?? Sure... but it just depends on your expectations. The lower your expectations then the more satisfied you will be.

We were up 21-6 at halftime. Eventually, we need to hold the players accountable too. Hubes had the ball with plenty of time on the clock to get the win. We have also recently found out the Hubes was playing hurt too. There is a big difference between a "No-star" QB playing injured and the #1 QB Prospect in the country with his brother as OC. Chavis was also going into that contest "blind".

Players are definitely part of the issue.

But then you could counter with: who is responsible for recruiting, training, teaching those players?

Muschamp was "blind" in 2012 when he faced one of the best QBs in CFB history. He gave up 17 pts in the 1st half and absolutely shut him down after 15 minutes in the locker room. Zero pts, 49 yards

Chavis held Shea to 6 pts in the 1H, then his defense melted down in an epic collapse. 23 pts, 353 yards.

Seems pretty clear that you are fine with Sumlin in most ways. There is nothing wrong with that opinion at all. Some feel differently.

I happen to believe that his offense and defense is more suited to Conference USA and the Big 12. I don't mean this in a negative way. His offensive philosophy just doesn't work against the better SEC teams in my opinion.

I happen to believe that this year's offense with read option can work. The pass happy spread with little to no run game is what fails in the SEC.
