If you get serious about this idea, I'd definitely talk to A&M admissions (and maybe even a departmental advisor if you know your preferred major) to figure out your best route. A helpful conversation there could save you a semester.

I’ll give them a call tomorrow. Thankfully with the GI bill I won’t have to pay a dime and with the change in 2015 I won’t have to pay out of state tuition
