Okay. I responded to the original post and now see that I am shamefully behind on the development of this thread... : (

Look into Blinn TEAM. You take 15 hours at A&M and 45 hours at Blinn in your first two years then you are full time at A&M past that. Good way to do it.

I actually went to A&M Galveston my freshman year. My high school grades were shite and I grew up in College Station so I preferred to leave for a year over going to Blinn. That was also a good experience. Engineering freshman year was a lot easier there.

Blinn TEAM

quote:

The Texas A&M-Blinn “Transfer Enrollment at A&M” (TEAM) Program is a collaborative, co-enrollment partnership between a major university (Texas A&M) and a community college (Blinn). Each year since 2001 this pioneering initiative has allowed the admission of hundreds of additional qualified students into the Texas A&M freshman class than would have otherwise been possible due to enrollment limitations.

Participating students enroll in one or two academic courses at Texas A&M each semester, and the remainder of their courses at the Bryan Campus of Blinn College. Students who complete 45 Blinn credit hours and 15 A&M credit hours within a two-year period, while maintaining academic standards, transition into degree-granting majors upon completion of the program.

TEAM students benefit from enrollment at both institutions; students enjoy the university experience afforded by Texas A&M (such as residence hall life, sports events, and a huge range of student services and activities), while enjoying the smaller classroom environments and costs of Blinn College. Academic advisors, faculty, and staff at both schools facilitate TEAM student successes. TEAM was the first program in Texas to connect a junior and senior institution in exactly this way.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board complimented the TEAM Program in 2013 by bestowing “Recognition of Excellence.” In 2014 TEAM received the Board’s coveted “Star Award” as one of the top educational initiatives in Texas.

I hated those fricks who backdoored their way into A&M. Had I known this was possible, I would have given zero fricks about my high school GPA, community service, and student organizations.

Being a boyscout and doing everything by the book doesn't pay off in life.

Lol I did that with Galveston. shite grades and never finished my Eagle scout. My SAT scores eventually got me in, but I had already done orientation so I stuck it out there for a year. Calculus, physics, and chemistry were a lot easier there.

Never heard of that before, looks like something I could benefit greatly from. However, it looks like you have to apply to A&M and then they have to select you for that. Not sure what my chances are competing against every kid coming out of high school.

It's not a highly competitive program. When I applied to A&M I was put on the waitlist and given the option to do Blinn Team or Galveston.

You also have being a vet in your favor. I highly doubt you'll have an issue.

depends on what classes you'll be taking and what your major is as far needing to go to blinn. you can pay in-state tution at A&M right after eaos and an honorable. think ya get 6 months after eaos.
