Key notes from Recruiting Country
We said something was something brewing. They were waiting for Adonyss Currie? to announce, and he did.
They had liked Tyler Thomas? for a long time. He checks a lot of boxes. It came together in the last couple of days. I talked to the Dickinson head coach John Snelson, and he went on and on about Tyler as a kid and about his character.
There has to be a mesh between the quality of the player and the quality of the person when you are trying to change a culture. Mike Elko implemented it in the spring, and now, he is doing it in recruiting.
When I was hinting that something might be happening, I was thinking of Currie with Thomas being soon after.
Currie fits the mold in terms of athleticism in the secondary. All of the kids they have committed in the secondary can really run, an attribute that Elko and his staff have wanted to add.
Currie is built more like Jaylon Jones. He is not as thick as Jaylon coming out, but he will be in that 6-foot-2, 6-foot-3 range. He has impressive track times. You get him as one of the top prospects out of California. That is a big recruiting win. Jonah Williams? is a big target at safety.
Tyler’s mass and size stand out. He already looks like an SEC offensive lineman. He is a big dude. You love his power potential. He has a really extensive background in basketball. He viewed himself as a basketball player until he got too big and too broad to remain a basketball prospect. He has positional versatility, much like Marcus Garcia?.
This doesn't take away momentum with guys like Lamont Rogers? or Michael Fasusi?, an elite talent prospect in Dallas.
I am comfortable saying they could add seven offensive linemen in this class. With all the changes coming, these rosters are so fluid. It gives you more wiggle room. It comes down to how many scholarships you have available. There is no limit to how many kids you can take anymore. It’s wise to be proactive on spots you need in the high school ranks.
Adam Cushing is very highly thought of. The kids like how he analyzes them. He is a teacher. He verbalizes what he wants, his expectations, etc. That’s a breath of fresh air for the current offensive line room.

I've heard and read some version of that before, and it never pans out.

Is that good? I’m pretty sure that’s good.

I’m no expert on good, but it definitely appears to be good for my limited experience

Kiotti Armstrong committed. Super high ceiling. Elite jumbo athlete. #3 TE, but could also play DL or OT.
