A few positives...

Defense looked pretty damn good to me. Not their fault because they had to spend way too much time on the field.

Moss and Smith looked good running the ball when they had any kind of blocking at all.

Was nice to have some timeouts late in the game instead of spending them all early in the 3rd as we have for the last 4+ years.

Defense did ok, but let’s not tell ourselves this ND has an excellent offense or anything. Defense still needs to improve as well.

Time management was definitely an improvement from the Jimbo era.

Still sticking with my 8-4 guess right now, but offense better improve and fast.

If Weigman operates w some rythmn n completes half of those out routes to Moss and gets just a couple of the other incompletes caught we are all in a better mood.

I'm not selling ANY stock and not over analyzing until he has a 2nd bad game. That game was awful but I think he gets in a rythmn next wk and doesn't play like that again this yr.

I would use Noah Thomas differently and stay more traditional w TEs but I'm a fan for a reason. I'm trusting Klein grow some also. Florida will tell us a lot and I will adjust my attitude after that if needed.

Down goes Notre Dame

This team is going to have a rough year. Nothing new. Perhaps Elko can see week to week improvement so we don’t get embarrassed down the line in November. Good luck to him

Our only hope is that unlike Jimbo, Elko might adjust and make changes

Until proven others I trust Elko to make the necessary changes.

Yep. I’m surprised so much of the fanbase is freaking out and already writing this year off as another lost cause. Yes ND is bad and we still don’t look great on offense, but we hired Elko to come in, bring in a different culture, and fix the problems.

Give the guy a chance. His personality doesn’t strike me as being as stubborn as Jimbo was. Let’s see if he can fix the problems and win a bunch of games. If not, fire him after 3-5 years and start over again. But let’s see what Elko can do. We are only 2 games into his tenure, people are acting like we are 40 games in.

Maybe it’s just me but I’m really not bothered even a little by ND losing to NIU. It happened, oh well. Plenty of big games ahead that could get us ranked and moving towards a great season. Or plenty of games for things to go wrong, we’ll just wait and see but I’m certainly not gonna be the “sky is falling” two games in. Save that for week 6

I'm surprised anybody could be surprised by our fanbase at this point

Read what I said tho. I’m not saying Elko can’t fix it. I’m just saying what is clearly obvious to anyone with two eyeballs - this team is going to have a rough year. Sure I think we will improve by end of year. So will a few others in our conference. But it is obvious we are going to have a rough go at it this season. Nothing new, as in all defense no offense.

Well, our starting qb sucks. Considering having a good qb is essential to the team being good, Our chances don’t look great. It’s not like he’s out there attempting to make plays and things just aren’t clicking right, and needs more reps. It doesn’t seem to appear that reps matter at this point.

Y'all bitch too much... are y'all more scared of Mizzou or LSU? Yes, we HAVE to clean up the penalties and make some decisions on pushing the ball down the field some (a dry ball may have let us see those decisions already) & that prevent defense was Charmin soft.

I didn't say I'm betting the Aggies to beat everybody but I'm not scared of them either. I hope we r sand bagging the WRs a little. Give me the damn cool aid cause there is a log jam of teams that we can get in the middle of pretty easy and be ranked higher than y'all care to wish for.
