Simple: You make such a harsh example out of them so that no one ever does anything like this again. You basically make them radioactive.

Explain what this looks like. And how it helps Texas A&M baseball.

If you willingly let a coach get away with undermining your program for the benefit of himself then you are feckless and deserve to be ridiculed. I don 't see that you have any choice but to pursue maximum legal action. As a head coach anywhere you have a fiduciary duty of some type to protect the program and Unversity in good faith.

IF he did this. I keep saying IF. He did it while under contract and being paid by Texas A&M. I think we generally agree that recruiting is the lifeblood of a program. If he purposely hurt us recruiting then he should be pursued with all the legal firepower Texas A&M can muster. It would be considerable. Where it really gets interesting is if others damaged by this can also pursue him legally. If you are an NIL sponsor and signed a few players how do you feel about next year now? You committed to NIL deals. You committed money based on A&M being a good team next year. You spent money helping Texas A&M recruit. If the coach actively prevented other good transfer players from coming in then the team is worse off. These are real damages.

He can't begin to outspend A&M and I don't think Texas can legally cover his attorney costs. If donors and NIL sponsors can file lawsuits against him (and other coaches that participated) you bring the thunder down in various courts in different cities and jurisdictions. Just bankrupt him or all of them into oblivion. I would have no mercy at all.

I didn't care that he left. He had his reasons. I have multiple posts about this. If he fricked us while he was the head coach then frick him.

Once again if true and provable. Must be both.

Edit... just saw where Grahovac and Laviiolette entered transfer portal this afternoon. This is going to get nasty. Set your program back a few years.

You are probably right. We’ll see what exactly happened pretty soon.

Our Athletic Department.., good grief. Usually our own worst enemy.

What happened is that PoS accepted the whorn job in April. And clocked out. He and the entire staff that were all promised spots with him. He has been working behind the scenes for Texas since some time in May.

There have been signs, but we didn't want to read them

I've heard that Early wanted to stay but when you don't have a HC in place he took the whorn job so he had some place to go. Wonder if he would come back with a new HC?

So... who do we want?

I'd take Bakich, but he isn't coming according to D1Baseball. Is the OU Coach interested?

Does anybody know what the portal rules are right now? Do the players have a short window to make a decision? At this point, with no staff in place or any sense of when one will be in place, it’s not surprising at all if players are testing the waters. What I won’t be able to stomach is if any of this year’s team follows Schloss.

I suspect the OU coach will be contacted
Heefner at DBU is another I would call
Wake Forest and UNC coaches as well

All ncaa players have until next Tuesday to enter the portal. A&M players have extra time (30 days) due to their coach leavings.

No deadline on when players commit to another school, but that has been and will continue to happen as every day passes.

A&M has got to get a staff together asap. We're already in a very bad spot and it will likely get worse before it gets better.

A KaiserSoze expletive-laden rant would’ve been pretty cathartic.

I think the reality is regardless of who we bring in as a coach, this upcoming season is gonna be rough. Just given everyone we’ll lose and how far behind we are on the Portal. Hopefully we get a good HC in here that can save a few players then attack the portal next year and build on the foundation that’s been laid over the past 3 seasons. I don’t think it’s gonna be a complete crash and burn but it’s gonna take a season to bounce back I think.

I think anyone short of Vitello we’re gonna be behind the 8 ball, and Vitello isnt happening

I think this is list of coaches mentioned by Kendall Rogers as initial targets

Vaughan - Bama
Mongione - Kentucky
Heefner- DBU
Goodwin - ECU
Link Jarrett - FSU
O’Connor - Virginia

Yeah to call him a long shot would be generous. But it doesn't hurt to ask, and I guess it signifies the level of coaching hire you're aiming for.

O’Connor would be pretty incredible. Both him and Jarrett feel like the shoot for the moon possibilities. I’ve thought Heefner would be great for us for a while and I have zero doubt he would accept. I hope we go for him if those two turn us down

Not a commentary on the DBU coach's potential, but it does sorta feel like we'll go with a mega religious/"good guy" hire to compensate for the way Schloss handled leaving. There's always the inclination to go in the complete opposite direction when the previous regime ended poorly

That’s fair. I think he is a hell of a coach and don’t really care about much else personally. O’Connor seems like a good guy and good coach but also has the resume to back everything up. Definitely my first choice of those mentioned
