For every kid that wants to stay near home, there are 2 that want to go somewhere new, different and exciting. Many parents of the inner city kids want that as well, they want their athletically gifted kid to get as far away from negative peers as possible

When we were recruiting well between 2012 and the first half of 2015, this didn't seem to be an issue.

It sure is a shame all that talent is gone and the 2016 and 2017 kids are going to have to start immediately once they hit campus.

I sure wish we had some of those 2012 and 2015 kids still on the team....

Ausbon claimed he has always been an LSU fan and his room is decked out in LSU gear. LSU had no interest in him until they held a satellite camp in Houston.

Sips believe Netherly was going to commit to them, but got pissed after they took the Duveenay bros. He was likely recruiting for the Sips at the A&M barbecue.

We HAVE to win big this year and show out. We are getting slaughtered on the recruiting trail this year. Otherwise, Sumlin is Zhao Kuo at the Battle of Changping: he's been outmaneuvered and we're going to be buried alive.

Or lose big. The worst case scenario if we are talking purely about recruiting is a 7 or 8 win "good but not great" season.

Winning has nothing to do with most of these recruits. They are going to a 5-7 tu program.

The Big 12 is really concerned with the rise of Texas A&M and they're doing everything they can to limit it. Other SEC West schools are trying to derail Texas A&M too.

Chavis referenced this in his media discussion a month or two ago. Jeremy Crabtree says that most of the negative news about Texas A&M recruiting is coming from other SEC coaches.

Auburn website actually says that Art Briles assisted in getting Kam Martin to both TCU and Auburn. I would not be surprised to find out later that Briles is pushing Mond to Auburn too.

For schools that have the "Blue blood" perception. We don't have that perception, and don't have the luxury of everyone assuming well bounce right back. We have to prove our salt before that changes, and will only do that by winning.

A&M is winning in recruiting at unprecedented levels for this program. We just happened to have landed in the toughest division in college football.

We have had 8+ wins every season. We couldn't even do that in the Big 12. If Ole Miss forfeits games bump it to 9+ wins. Don't count to a team that played for the national championship and it bumps up to 10+ wins a season.

A&M has a young and now experienced coaching staff, new facilities, and are based in fertile recruiting territory. Everyone wants us to tear this program down, but that's just the opinion of a former strategic planner.

We absolutely have to battle 2 conferences when it comes to negatively recruiting against us

But we need to win and do it for several consecutive years

I can assure you that this is NOT the way that recruits are looking at it. This statement is nothing but spin, and it's not spin that anyone we are recruiting is even going to listen to, much less buy.

But we ARE in it. That's the reality. Our reality. We can't just say "aw shucks, the division is tough". It is tough. It's our division. It is. That is reality. So, do we want to win it or just do that crappy "aw shucks, we competed, and it's hard, good job boys" Aggie thing? I personally want to win it. If that's our goal, we need to STEP THE frick UP.

We just now hired a Director of Player Personnel. We're a decade behind on that. We did that to ourselves. This is the typically Aggie stuff we do that puts us behind the 8 ball and just drives me crazy, because it's avoidable.

Look at us now - incredibly, we're actually undersigning when there are clear obvious advantages to over-signing and processing down to 85, which our competition is doing. Why are we always so stupid and lazy and behind on things?

Yes. We have to. Or Sumlin is out as another failed coach and we are in for another decade of wandering in the desert, because Herman is NOT coming to A&M and we are never going to hire Art Briles (for good reason).

1. Don't want Herman at all

2. We will never wander in the desert again like the last stint

Oregon, Oklahoma State, TCU, Baylor, Arkansas, and UCLA are all programs that have consistently.

We are out recruiting those schools fairly consistently. The staff is also attracting transfers from Oregon, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Virginia Tech.
