It's pretty ridiculous how they automatically crystal ball every player in the state to the Sips that have an offer from that team. Nice little operation they got going on at 247 to bump up subscriptions, just like they keep bumping up the Sip recruits ratings before signing day.

Jack Sears, 4* QB from CA, was apparently in town.

So we can laugh now at all of the "he's only a 3 star" posters

He's the 117th ranked player in the nation, 4th or 5th star coming soon

Look into the #s of the 2016 recruiting class:

ESPN
Sips: 13-4* recruits and 11-3* recruits (I believe 3, including Erick Fowler, won't make it on campus).

A&M: 14-4* recruits and 7-3* recruits

The Sips literally had just 3 more 3*s recruits and 1 less 4* and this board went absolutely "bat $%*# crazy", because their "Ranking" was higher.

Where did you come up with these numbers?

247 composite ranking shows A&M with 8 4-stars and 13 3-stars

There are two kinds of 3 stars.

There are the 3 stars you target early in the process as "wants" because you scouted them and their size, build, measurables, attitude, and skill set fit with your scheme at a position of need.

There are 3 stars you take late in the process because you struck on out who you wanted and you now have to take the best player still available to fill a roster spot at a position of need or be left without depth in the future.

Totally different. In the first case, everyone needs to shut up and be happy that the staff got who they wanted based on their scouting and their criteria. In the second case, it's a bad sign - we're getting beat, we're picking up scraps, and will suffer for it.

I think you also have to consider the amount for exposure each kid has received prior to the ranking.

If someone is at a powerhouse program that had a bunch of highly rated kids in the previous class, I'd trust the ranking more than someone at a smaller school who probably hasn't been given a thorough evaluation.

You mean the powerhouse kid rated at 3 star has less odds of being a future 4 star right?
