Kind of off topic but a buddy of mine in Bakersfield, said Derrick Vickers (Juco transfer), told him night before last that he signed with A&M. Watched a little of his HUDL video last night and has some "Speedy" qualities without the "speedy" problems. If true, he might be a great pick up as well. All American last year . . .

Absolutely can't hurt. I will be interested to see how he looks on campus. If he comes in with a similar mindset to Josh Reynolds then he ought to find a spot. Those numbers look good.

I told everybody that A&M would benefit from the "fall" of Baylor in the 2013 class. Getting Mond, Hezekiah Jones, J. Peevy, Ausbon, and ultimately fending off their late surge for Buddy Johnson was HUGE for this class!

The best part of this signing day was seeing Baylor and Ole Miss return to "normal" (#39 and #30 in recruiting respectively). These 2 programs have had a "real" impact on our programs rise that has gone unnoticed by people like Texags and 247, because they are lazy and don't really analyze anything.

Ole Miss recruiting ranking since 2012 (247 composite): #47. #8, #15, #17, and #5.

Think about A&M's roster with some of these players who were heavy leans or commits to our program from Baylor and Ole Miss: KD Cannon, Pat Lewis, Greg Little, Corey Coleman, Jarett Stidham, Javonte Magee, Robbie Rhodes, Johnny Jefferson, Damarkus Lodge, Deontay Anderson, D. Pennamon, and Bryce Matthews. The impact on A&M's depth chart has been HUGE. Think of how many close losses we could have avoided with these types of talents on the roster.

Ole Miss gave A&M head-to-head losses in 2014, 2015, and 2016 on the tailwind of amazing recruiting classes. What would the narrative have been for A&M had we gone 11-2, 9-4. 9-4, 9-4, and 9-4. It's only 3 additional losses to Ole Miss, but it does change the narrative.

You make me long for the days when tmc posted quality information regularly.

I think the two are somewhat related.

(edit: I don't mean chill is related to tmc, but more that tmc's participation has dropped as the quality of the forum posts has dropped)

What I wouldn't give to go back. Was one of the biggest reasons I started coming here. This is the only place I come for Aggy football related content. And I like most of the posters. Most.

It really was like a island paradise in the vast sea of awful aggy internet.

When an atmosphere becomes toxic, even the good roommates will quit doing dishes and picking up around the house. Lol

The anger over the shitty actions of the Sumlin administration has made things toxic.

You guys just love reinforcing your opinions and don't accept those of others, but again many of you are part of the group that was in absolute admiration of Art Briles, Tom Herman, and Mike MacIntyre.
Those coaches are turning out to be real "winners"...lol.

You got me. Reinforcing my opinion that I liked the information tmc (and several others) shared here. It was about our program but it never felt like it had a cultish, establishment propaganda to go along with the inside info.

The AD made his decision on Sumlin. So until next year plays out, he has my support.

How is MacIntyre lumped in with the other two?

Art Briles, scum or not, is still a significantly better football coach than Kevin Sumlin.

Tom Herman was literally JUST hired

MacIntyre has turned around TWO terrible programs in the last 5 years as is next up for a huge job if he wants to leave Colorado

Art Briles went 1-3 vs Mike Sherman and got blown the hell out in RG3's Heisman year. If he was that great a coach he wouldn't have had to rely on having the most thugged out teams ever to play in the state to win.

He turned Baylor into a perennial top 10 program

Baylor

I used to think God himself couldn't do better than 8-4 there

At what cost? He made them good by taking in tons of scum and leading massive coverups is the point. He didn't do it by being the best coach. Sure all school have assholes they try to keep around but Baylor was on another level. The fallout isn't even close to being over with. It's going to take decades to undue the damage done to their image.
