Boomer White was in the studio for Gabe's show today. He seems like a great kid. Looking at his stats (they're very good) and given his family's loyalty to A&M... I haven't looked into it, but I wonder why RC didn't pursue him in the first place.

Another uni released for 2016. It has an old school feel to it. I don't love it or hate it.

Are those bats expected to put significant runs on the board this year?

We return 4 of our top 8 hitters and add Boomer. I think we should be a strong hitting team, but I think our pitching will be even better.

Kyle Simonds

He was much better out of the pen last year than starting. The high points in his season: 0 ER in his first 10 appearances, beat LSU after pitching 5 and only allowing 2 R with only 1 earned, and a save vs Cal in the championship game of the regional.
Corbin Martin

2.95 ERA
14 APP, 0 GS
18.1 IP
0 Saves
.222 Opp BA
No starts yet, but looked strong vs USC and Vandy in SEC play out of the pen.
Tyler Ivey
10-1 record with a 0.27 ERA, 121 strikeouts and 11 walks in 69.0 innings his senior year.
Perfect Game All-American First Team

Quote from Rob on TA radio.
This weekend we’re going to start Kyle Simonds on Friday, Corbin Martin on Saturday and Tyler Ivey on Sunday.”
“Tyler Ivey has pitched to an awfully high level. He’s been very consistent. He’s 90-94 and throws four pitches for a strike. He’s just been really good. It’s a tough decision putting everybody in their spots this weekend, and obviously, it’s going to change week-to-week. Other guys are vying for that opportunity. You talk about Brigham Hill, Jace Vines – Stephen Kolek has pitched at a really high level too. We just feel like Tyler is going to get us off to a good start. We’ll make a move off of those three guys.”
“Jace Vines is a really mature, hard-working kid. He’s a sinker-slider guy that throws a ton of strikes. He’s 88-93 miles per hour, and has a great presence on the mound. He’s going to be a big part of what we do this year, and we’re very happy he’s in our program.”
“The only reason I feel as strong about keeping Vinson, Ecker and Hendrix in the bullpen today as I have in the past is that the other guys have pitched at such an incredibly high level, and it allows us to do that. When you get to go to a fourth-year senior and a fifth-year senior, Ty Schlottman and Andrew Vinson, to get the ball to two talents like Mark Ecker and Ryan Hendrix, that’s a luxury. All those guys have been fantastic for us.”

Who all is making it out to Olsen this year? I have tickets for SFA, HBU, tu, Sat LSU, & UTA. I'll probably try to make at least 1 or 2 more weekend games plus some postseason play.

Spring time trips to Texas just aren't in the cards for me. Last time I was actually there was the infamous LSU playoff series.

My brother and his wife in Houston are having a baby in May; definitely going to try to sneak in a game or 3 while I'm in Texas.

It's opening day boys. I've had enough of football, I'm gladly embracing baseball this year. Gig 'em
