Some just make it easier to qualify for an academic scholarship. There are definitely ways around it.

Yeah this was what happened with him. Same thing with kids I knew who played at D3 schools

Don't everybody get your hopes too high, but 247 is hearing some good vibes re: Jack Jones (though nothing Hamm is willing to run with yet).

Would be nice to pull in some commit that was way under the radar for us on DL, like Willie Baker or something.

but I suspect they ratchet down what they charge recruited players, if they do not.

I know of at least two guys from my HS who were beast mode at crew that were able to get "academic" scholarships at Yale and Harvard even though they were B/C students and were quite average on their SATS.

So while it may be true in the literal sense that they do not give "athletic" scholarships it is also true that they have scholarships that go to talented individuals who might not get in on their grades alone.

No, but we can laugh at him.

Like when you learn that the ex-girlfriend who dumped you in front of your friends got an incurable STD from a one night stand after yall broke up.

I got one for yall:

Does anyone think Texas boat racing past us in recruiting last minute will get our leadership to stop calculating the cost-of-living to be the lowest possible amount for some stupid ROI talking point?

We need to beat that drum hard I think.

Bama has bagmen too but they redid their calculation to not fall behind on that metric.

You can't just row with one oar in college football and expect to win, not when others are giving it everything they got.

our COA should be based on what it would cost a single student to live in a quad at a place like Calloway House!

agreed.

the stipend needs to be the same for every D1 team in the country. Otherwise its just a sham.

It is a sham. Hell half of college football is a sham. That doesn't matter.

You either play the game or you don't. Texas's cost of living is almost double ours.

Even if that isn't the reason why they leaped past us I hope we pretend it is the reason to fix the problem.

As a side effect it might blow the whole marketing plan to transform us into ROI engineer diploma mill into smithereens.

Maybe I need to register a .com and get on this shite. "aggiesarepoor.com"? "aggiesliketolose.com"?
