why?

SEC has 11 players invited to draft day, Big 12 has 1.

That's why. Big 12 is crap.

Then why do any players, who hold scholarships from both conferences, choose the Big12?

We shouldn't be too worried about the Anderson decommit. There's so many others out there. Soso would be great bc of size to replace Carson. We REALLY need to offer Hasty now. He's explosive and would help the cause with Mack

Mack taking down his A&M stuff is a red flag. He may be swayed by on field results. I wouldn't be surprised if he's at Bama by the time it's over. He's not a dumb kid and wants to win, so I'm not worried about UT

The key to the class all along has been:
1. Murray
2. Mack
3. Jefferson
4.Sheffield

Gotta win enough games to get em!

RE: Kyler, our fanbase is working against us here. He doesn't feel comfortable with the constant "legacy" crap as well as the comparison to Manziel. We've recruited him the best and I'd be surprised if he went somewhere else, but I don't think he's anywhere near the lock he's made out to be and from what I know, he's just not ready.

This could be it. Some people just wanna branch out and do something different. It's like when the Mavericks were trying to sign Deron Williams, he grew up in Dallas but signed with Brooklyn partly to not be so close to friends and family in Dallas.

I still think Murray picks the good guys, but it's a great example on why you should NEVER pay Liucci 15 bucks a month to have sunshine and rainbows pumped up your arse. Form an opinion yourself knowing that nothing's certain. Here's to hoping he picks us!

I disagree with you on a few things. I also dislike downplaying guys when they decommit. Anderson is elite. There is not a comparable back like him in the nation and honestly guys like him come every 3-4 years. And he's perfect for this offense. He lacks the explosion of Bradford or Hasty or Merritt, but he has exceptionally rare intangibles.

The difference between Hasty and Bradford isn't much. I honestly prefer Hasty but taking them both is a waste because they are so much alike. Soso is not viewed as a RB by our staff so he's not even worth discussing as a replacement. The big problem, and why so many cooled on him, is he seems to lack a position.

Looks like more arguments. This Lorenzo Phillips quote is from 247
quote:

“It was great to get an offer from A&M again,” he said. “It feels good because I’ve always liked Texas A&M. I was committed to them my junior year so it was definitely a program I was interested in. I love it out there, the 12th Man, and everything they got going on. They’re coming up on the rise and stuff. I’ll probably visit sometime in the summer.”

In case you have heard otherwise, East Mississippi CC LB Lorenzo Phillips says he does NOT have an offer from #TAMU.

Phillips was committed to Sherman's staff in the '12 class before flipping to LSU. He signed there and enrolled. I really don't know the issues that led him to CC but I think he was just unhappy at LSU.

he either decommmits and goes to take visits, or he stays commited and continues to take visits. either way we are just going to have to deal with this. and this is literally like 4 weeks after he "recommitted"

Just a little thought I been contemplating today...

Curious why when we look at Josh Warikabo and we are actively recruiting him, why aren't we going after Jalin Barnett as well? Sounds like Sumlin flipped a coin and went after Warikbo as a result. Both were heavily favored to stay in-state at one point but Barnett hasn't pulled a trigger yet so maybe he's keeping his options open for now? Just a thought.

Another guy were overlooking imo is James Lockhart, 4-star DE. Basically, I've heard nothing about us having much interest in this guy, but we're offering people at the same spot OOS. Is it grades? Anyone care to share anything on that? Not that it's important to the interest of A&M's program but Daylon Mack has been twitter buddies with this kid a lot lately as well.

I agree with you on Anderson. He's a freak athlete and the guy from this area you want on your team, he has the best intangibles in the country. I'm not downplaying the decommit, I'm downplaying the position importance in our offense. There is a supply of alternative talent: Anderson, Bradford, Jamabo, Jones II, Warren, Gray, Hasty, Stevenson, Brossette, Guice and Merritt are all composite 4* RB's on 247 from our turf.
I think we would be fine with Bradford , Hasty, a guy like Guice plus James White is a pretty physical back.

I guess I'm saying I think there's a bigger drop off in talent at other positions more integral to success, while RB's are more plug and play types in the HUNH.

I heard that the coaches didn't think he would end up being big enough to play SDE in the SEC. So Lockhart was a pass and Kingsley Keke is our primary SDE target, with the out of state guys being mostly WDE's.

Raoul_Duke pretty much nailed it. He has poor length for a DE. I'm not sure if the 6'3" isn't legit or he just has short arms. And he doesn't have the frame to grow into a 3-tech. Believe OU is recruiting him as an OLB (they run a 3-4 base).

Very productive guy that in other years we'd grab but with taking 3 DEs last year we don't have to reach. We're actually heavy on DEs at the moment as well. So unless we have unexpected attrition, I don't think he's ever going to get offered.

SR - Stansbury, Taylor
JR - Obioha
SO - Hall, Arnold, Taylor
FR - Garrett, Cunningham, Johnson

We want about 7-8 and so we'll have 7 in '15 even with no one in that class. Given that, you shoot for the moon on '15 guys because it's no big deal to go without.
