We've offered Ronald Jones

I'm pretty interested in that. Rivals bumped him to #39 in the country in their last update. I know nothing about Jones but high 4*'s in Texas that don't have offers from the local powers always make you put your radar up. I don't even think we'd invited him to a JR Day.

Guy has amazing film. He's taller and runs a little upright with blistering long speed so he reminds you of Brandon Williams a little.

And we dropped another out of state DT offer: Adam McLean from MD

Is OU still considered his leader?

We've also offered Tim Settle

And apparently we had a long snapper commit today?

I'm assuming he's a preferred walk on

Jones? I really don't know. I've never had even a passing conversation where he was mentioned. AFAIK he wasn't even on our radar and so I just assumed he was a grade risk. I'll try and find out what the story with him is.

Going national is the true mark of a very marketable product. If we can produce results by closing these guys , that is a major feather in the cap.

And FWIW daylon said he wasn't going to be taking anymore visits so well see how that turns out

it's such a luxury situation really. We've taken five DTs in the last two classes and all of them are 4*s. We have Daylon committed for '15. We could very easily live with just the 1 DT in this class so if you take a shot nationally and whiff, no real loss tbh.

We're actually in a bit of the same situation at DE. Terry Price has absolutely killed it to the point that we're being incredibly stingy on who we look at even. Right now Daylon is the only in-state DL that we've even offered and no one else seems even close on one.

Interesting interview by Hog Sports with Malik Jefferson. It's audio.

- didn't mention A&M among offers
- NFL idol: Von Miller
- looking for playing time and "stable" four years
- influential people in decision: parents and brothers
- doesn't seem to care about what position at LB he plays. Says he's playing ILB this year

Seems like a really good dude

Exactly. We can start going after looking long shot national guys because we have established a great haul in previous classes

We just need to get some of these OOS guys to visit. An offer is a waste of time if you can't get them on campus. Would love to get the Mississippi guys Leo Lewis and Jamal Peters to Aggieland. We need ILB and big safety.

chicken/egg thing really. Many won't visit without the offer so you throw it out there because wtf. Some coaches (Saban) offer everyone with a pulse and sort it out later. Others like to get to know the guy, talk to his coach, get his transcript and find out if he's remotely serious about his interest before offering. That seems to be Sumlin's approach. Right now we've made the least offers of any school in the SEC.

He already visited Auburn. His mother went with him, but his father stayed home.

I knew he'd already gone once, but I thought I heard that he was going to go to their spring game(A Day) with both of his parents. I'm hoping this is a good sign that he changed his mind.

I think I read somewhere that he already had 130 offers out, and that was about a month ago.
