Stuff like that never ends up working out it seems like. The only way it can work out is if sets the world on fire from day one in practice and in the games, and in that offense with those players around him I don't see it happening. Otherwise his teammates will hate him and Strong will be fricked

That said, this 2015 class is really driving me away from it. When recruits act like this, it's a great reminder that they're 18 year olds

honestly the recruits aren't the problem. They are 18-year olds making life decisions. Sometimes they want to think things through. It's natural and entirely normal.

The problem imo is the reaction to it. Fans get their feelings hurt like a recruit somehow owes them something. And the histrionics are incredibly self-defeating as it actually encourages them to play things up, troll, etc.

I saw a couple of '16 recruits discussing this on twitter and they were disappointed nobody is freaking out over their recruitment. These are high school kids getting their first blush of fame and so of course they feed on the attention. And until people stop freaking at their every move, they won't quit creating drama (I don't expect either to happen).

This is just how recruiting is and will be going forward. Between pay sites and twitter and grown men announcing to the world if recruiting doesn't go their way they will cry like a little girl, this isn't going to change.

It seems like this year has been considerably worse as far as

This goes. Maybe we've just been lucky in years past though

Not really. This time last year everyone was freaking about Nick Harvey and Otaro Alaka and DSG.

No, I definitely agree that fans are the root of the problem.

My point is, I'm done contributing to the hysteria. Let me know when they get on campus.

Allen, Garret, and last year's class for the most part were all solid once committed.

Garrett and Allen were model recruits from a fan standpoint

It's the American way to worship money and fame above all else. These kids are all tasting fame for the first time and they're all foolish to think that they're the "special" kid that makes it to the NFL to become rich. They don't care about the education they receive, yet that's by far the best perk that any will get out of this(outside of pussy). Just drives fans nuts though at how they can frick with you 24/7 at the touch of a button with this stupid arse invention called twitterer

Texags premium board is close to losing it. Staff is deleting threads as fast as they can, and for once I don't blame them. But honestly this place isn't a whole lot better with all the pure speculation about motives and whatnot.

WTH is wrong with "Hey, let's go to Austin for a day, miss a day of class, and be treated like kings"? Maybe there's more to it than that, but I haven't seen any reason to think so.

FYI it appears Awolope will not in fact be visiting this weekend. I take this as we don't have room (hint hint)

What do yall think, we take 5 of the following in some way.

1 WR (lodge or merrit)
1 RB (bussey or warren)
1-2 CB (boyd, hill, and/or martin)
0-1 DL (mack or no one?)
0-1 LB (smith)
0-1 OL (helms)

Yeah, there's a 247 guy who's pretty plugged in with East Texas guys, and he says that Boyd has been telling everyone that he's going to A&M. Hence, why Baylol canceled the OV (allegedly, they also got wind that Boyd was trying to convince Hill to go to A&M).

Hamm also says he's close to making a flip pick for Sheffield.

CB recruiting, all of a sudden, looks pretty damn good.

That too. But also, we have needs in other areas, and we just don't have room period. That was my read anyway.

This. We're set at the other positions except for center since Matthews is a senior now. McCoy can be a center but he's probably going to redshirt.

Probably. Do we only have five spots?

I'm not confident on Smith or Merritt, and I think we really want two CBs
My personal hope is

Bussey
Boyd
Martin
Mack
Lodge

And if we can flip Sheffield we make a way to fit him in and take three CBs

I think Hill is more likely than Martin.

I've heard others quote 5 but I think it's 6. I may have miscounted somewhere. This is the breakdown as I understand it

1 RB
2 CBs
1 WR
1 DT

And that leaves 1 "best available" for a guy like Roquan Smith, Merritt/Lodge, or Sheffield or the like
