My random thoughts:
- Christian Kirk and Tyron Johnson looked especially impressive. Great hands and cuts for Kirk. Siverand wasn't too flashy, but was solid.
- Trent Irwin (PAC12 territory) seems very underrated.
- Terry Godwin (GA commit) made a lot of tough catches. Looks good.
- Agree that Iman Marshall looks beastly.
- 3:28 - Future Ag Christian Kirk taking it to future tigah Xavier Lewis
- 4:21 - Lil' Snoop looks slow

Mmmm, yeah.

Five-star Aggie commit Kyler Murray is the quarterback for team Vapor Carbon at The Opening. One of the receivers on team Vapor Carbon happens to be top A&M WR target Christian Kirk. SB Nation's Wescott Eberts spoke with Kirk after their first 7-on-7 match against the Landsharks.
According to Kirk, he's already found chemistry with Murray. Additionally, Kirk has spent time with all seven Aggie commits at The Opening and says he's impressed with how close they are already. Kirk's 247Sports Crystal Ball currently favors Texas A&M at 76 percent.

Kyler had an OT game winner earlier, but this last one he shoulder faked the corner to bite, and threw a strike to deon Cain

Sounds like Murray and Kirk went ham tonight.

2. Malik Jefferson, LB (Mesquite, Texas)
Another uncommitted five-star, Jefferson certainly hasn't hurt his rep up at Nike. At 6-2.5 and 215 pounds, he clocked a 4.39 40 and jumped 39.7 inches. The comparison I got from a college coach Tuesday night: Patrick Willis.
"He's bigger than Willis was at the same stage and with similar athleticism," said the coach. "I'm not saying he will be as good as Willis — that's not fair to compare now, but if he develops/shows that killer instinct he will have a chance. He's actually a better pure athlete."
3. Kirk Merritt, WR (Destrehan, Louisiana)
Merritt became the second consecutive Louisiana native to win the SPARQ overall title following WR Speedy Noil (now at Texas A&M).
The 5-11, 203-pounder ran a 4.46 40, measured 45.5 in the vertical, had a 4.06 shuttle time and threw the powerball 41 feet.

Anyone hear of a recruiting event on july 18th?
THEE MACK TRUCK @DaylonMack · 22h
Can't wait to visit A&M on the 18th with my boy @James_Lockhart9 #GigEm #AggielandBound
the shag seems to think sumlin is getting one together because he is scared of strong's recruitment event that same weekend

Top performers at The Opening: LINK
quote:
Slot – Christian Kirk - Last year it was Ryan Switzer that couldn’t be stopped out of the slot at The Opening. This year it was Kirk. The undersized receiver isn’t necessarily an elite burner but he just gets open, has great hands and has a knack for making big plays. He had 8 touchdowns during pool play.
quote:
LB – Malik Jefferson – It’s tough for a linebacker to shine in a 7on7 setting but Jefferson managed to stand out anyway. He had a pair of pick-6 plays on Wednesday and his athleticism and speed to the football was scary.
quote:
S – Justin Dunning – Coming off of an injury, Dunning was perhaps the breakout star of the event. He shows outstanding length and was all over the field picking off passes both days. The Texas A&M commit may have been the longest DB in attendance but he was as athletic as anyone.
quote:
CB – Kris Boyd – Particularly on Wednesday, Boyd was one of the best cornerbacks in attendance. He has length, physicality and he can run.

Given his measurables, it wouldn't surprise me if Malik ends up being the #1 recruit in the country.

While Malik had a great camp, I don't think a LB will get #1 in the nation type honors.
Also, think Dunning was the biggest mover at this camp by far. He finished 12th in the SPARQ ratings despite blowing his ACL last fall. Pre-injury last spring he ran a FAT 4.41 forty and had a vert of 40.4. He ran 4.59 in Oregon which is very solid but switch that out to 4.41 and he's challenging for the SPARQ title. The vertical at 38.9 shows he hasn't progressed at all due to the injury and still may not be 100%.
Dunning is an athletic freak and that has always been known. But to play center field in 7v7 vs the best players in the country and be named 1st team too? Yeah, that's a big deal. As of today, he's 174 composite. Will be really interesting to see where he ends.

hope we get all 3 of them, would be so sick

Thanks for the thoughts. From reading about the camp, do you think anyone that's currently committed will have a major fall in the rankings?
