yup. it would be nice for allen to start and all, but kyler might be gone after 3 years whether he starts now or later.
gotta go with the best player, whoever that may be.

I hope Kyle is really good. But a genuine dual-threat QB is hell on wheels in the college game. I hope KM is what we think he is. Gonna be fun to watch it play out. Less than 3 weeks!

that's what i see happening.

Help me follow this logic. Not trying to be a dick, I just don't understand why no reports of Allen doing anything wrong means that Murray is doing everything right.
The report posted is Murray is easily outplaying Allen. The report I read has been all positive about Allen. If someone is easily outplaying a guy not making mistakes then Murray must be playing at an elite elite level for both to be true.

even Johnny wasn't perfect. If Kyler is moving the team better then he will get more clock.
This first scrimmage was basically the play in game for Kyler and jake to get to compete with Kyle.

Anybody know what kind of offense Jake was in last year?

Having two legit QB's playing isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's just uncommon, not to mention makes things a little more difficult for offensive coordinators.
But if you can make it work....
ETA: I don't think it'll happen, just saying I personally wouldn't be opposed.

i can see it happening because of the rushing element that kyler brings to the table.
even if allen wins the job, its not as if we arent going to be better off with a qb that can run like kyler in some games/situations.
if kyler ends up second string, which i think he will, we are gonna see a ton of him over the next two years even if he isnt the starter.
hell, what if we had kyler against lsu last year? we woulda won that game, some teams are gonna match up against allen to the point where it might make more sense to give kyler a lot of pt.
just my 2 cents.

Gotcha.
I just have to think that the loser of this QB competition will transfer after this year.
Didn't Hoobastank put up insane JC numbers? Sumlin's greatest recruiting coup may have been landing him to be a solid backup who knows and is okay that he's a backup.

Allen didn't play much if any in yesterday's scrimmage. Per Sumlin in the press conference it was because Allen is where he needs to be and Kyler needed to get a feel for the team.
Kyle doing well yesterday doesn't mean anything other than letting us know that our back up qb is looking good

Kyle played 3 of the first series. He threw an INT.

The INT was when he was on "scout" team and Dozel was in. Im not exactly sure what that means.

It means he still throws the football to the defense sometimes

I was referring to our likely QB1 running a scout team 3 weeks before our first game.

Much had been made of the fact that Marcus Mariota hasn't thrown an INT in training camp yet. Then the preseason game with ATL happened.
The offense will be fine, whoever is out there at QB. Just alot of weapons our there for us.
For our record to improve, Chief has to put together a reliable defense. His public comments have been encouraging. That's good, I guess. But until I actually see it, I am way more concerned about that side of the ball.
Then there is the extra point and field goal kicking situation. We know Bertolet's record in that role. And it's disconcerting. Wonder how this will turn out.

Maybe I'm being too hard on the kid, but I have absolutely zero confidence in Bertolet.
Posted on 8/16/15 at 4:20 pm to TbirdSpur2010
Not at all. There's no reason to have confidence in him. He's got a psychological mountain to get over. Really hope he can, but we just won't know until he's under the gun.

He'll have to win me over with consistency and making tough kicks under pressure.
I just hope we never have to rely on a kick of his to win a game. I won't be able to watch![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
