It was only a 2 game series?
3 scheduled. Thursday-Friday-Saturday. Early so everybody could see their mamas on Easter. Thursday and Friday were rained out. And SEC rules dictate that a double-header on the last day of a series are limited to 7-innings each. So it is written, so shall it be done.

rain wiped out the scheduled Thu and Fri games. We played a doubleheader today to try to catch up but that's it
ETA: finest explained it better (and faster)

I actually think it was Thur-Fri-Sat because we had SECN this weekend.

RPI is staying steady at 4. SOS is at 103. We are now 12-2 vs the top 50. Last year (after postseason) we were 17-17. We have 7 more opportunities vs the top 50 as our schedule stands now, but I wouldn't be shocked if UT & USCe move into the top 50, making it 13 more shots.
Again, if the wheels somewhat come off and we go 12-11 (9-9) (as close to .500 as we can get), then we will still finish 42-13 (19-9) which will easily give us a host.

So who do we throw vs Rice? A certain weekend starter didn't go last weekend.

Larkins is apparently starting. My guess is RC is doing it so Larkins doesn't have to adjust to relief whereas Simonds has been doing it all year. Simonds has only started 1 game though and I'd think we need to stretch him out but I'm not in charge. He'll probably throw an inning or two in relief

With Simonds available, we need to have a very short lease on Larkin. This is a potential(likely) top 50 win to help build the national seed resume. And its Rice. F them.

What comes out of a Chinaman's arse?

Hell of a start mr. Larkins.
