So besides Hall (looking good) and Cannon (I'm really doubting it) potentially flipping, who else is still out there that we've got a shot at?

Parker, Freeman, Iheanacho, and Young, I think.

WR Frank Iheanacho
WR Davion Hall
WR KD Cannon
OL Braden Smith
OL Nick Gates
LB Otara Alaka
LB Edwin Freeman
LB Kenny Young
S Steven Parker

Based on some info, I think we may well go all the way to 26 (besides Gus, we will count 1 more back to the '13 class) and 2 of our current 20 don't count

Probably, if he wasn't already. Which makes hall that more important

Varshaun Nixon is getting all kinds of praise at the Semper Fi practices. This is from his HC
quote:

“I got to play against him so I already knew how good he was but the Varshaun Nixon kid out of Lake Travis has been outstanding,” McGuire said of the Texas A&M commit.

“The thing I like about him is that he just comes to work. A lot of running backs at times can be prima donnas and flashy guys but he’s just a guy who doesn’t say a lot and comes out and works hard.

“I’ve been really impressed with the way he’s seen the holes and made cuts. He’s probably the one on the offense that’s really impressed me.”

One thing I really like hearing is that one of our recruits is handling KR and PR at each all-star game. We need more explosive plays out of ST imo. Nixon happens to be doing both.

This is a big reason why I am not worried about replacing Johnny next year. Don't get me wrong, you can't get another player like him. The key is though whether it is Hill or Allen he is going to have some ridiculous athletes all around him. If you have elite level RB's and WR's along with a strong OL it's kind of hard not to do well as a QB. There will be at least 3 guys on the field at all times he can either hand the ball to or just do a screen pass to and they are a legit threat to take it to the House.

The real story that will of course get a fraction of the attention is how much our D can improve. If our D is able to go from Dumpster Fire to average or maybe 2012 level then we are a real threat in the SEC. We absolutely must get one of Freeman, Young, and Alaka and we need to pull out all the stops on Parker in spite of the game last night.

Yep skill position players on offense are great but if we don't get some talent on defense we are going to be in real trouble. We need to go after all these defensive guys hard.
