If we can get Kennedy cleared by the SEC, that will be the icing on this May recruiting cake.

2 Big pieces of news:
"SEC grad transfers no longer must sit out a year when transferring to another league school, SEC presidents voted today. Previously, SEC required grad transfers to sit out a year when transferring to another SEC school"
Brandon Kennedy looking a lot more likely now.
Also, 5* #1 OT in the country Darnell Wright will be back in Knoxville this weekend for the 2nd time in a few months.

From what I understand, the Fields commitment article is written, just waiting on the go ahead.
And we may have a couple more silents that will pop in June.
We need to get a visit from To'to'oto out of De La Salle, 5* LB. He was trying to visit unofficially this weekend, but couldn't make it.
He's our best chance for an elite Cali commit this year, Kevin Simon putting in work.

They've been hitting the road hard.
Wanya Morris and Jackson Lampley are both in Knoxville today to accompany Darnell Wright while he's in on his trip.

As in former stud Tennessee LB Kevin Simon? I didn't know he was on the staff
Him and another LB whose name I can't remember but wore #2 were awesome back around 04 or so, the other guy did have some injury problems. Burnette was his last name I think?
Anyways not trying to hijack the thread just a trip down memory lane

Yes, Kevin Burnett. He had a decent NFL career, also from California.

South Florida DL -- Khris Bogle, who visited officially earlier this spring is scheduled to be back in Knoxville sometime this week for an unofficial visit.

Looks like Pruitt is going back to the basics for UT. A strong UT raids the Carolinas and Virginia Beach area.

the four-star rising senior quarterback from thompson high school in alabaster, ala., told 247sports' john garcia jr. On thursday that he's scheduled to travel to tennessee on friday for his second visit with the vols this year. The 5-foot-11, 203-pound tagovailoa, who's the younger brother of alabama quarterback tua tagovailoa, also visited tennessee in february to attend one of its junior days. He has remained one of the vols' top quarterback targets in the 2019 class even since he committed to alabama on april 21.
The younger tagovailoa told garcia at a 7-on-7 event thursday at auburn that he has stayed in contact with first-year tennessee coach jeremy pruitt's staff, and he still likes the vols despite his commitment to the crimson tide.
In late march, just a few weeks before he announced his commitment to alabama, tagovailoa said he had built a "really strong" relationship with pruitt, who previously served as alabama's defensive coordinator. "it’s a guy that my parents are comfortable with and they really trust," tagovailoa said of pruitt. "that’s a big thing for us, and i really like coach."
he also said in late march that he hadn't forgotten “the hospitality” he received at tennessee during his trip to knoxville in february, and he enjoyed the time he spent with pruitt, offensive coordinator tyson helton, tight ends coach brian niedermeyer and other members of the vols’ staff. “i loved it,” tagovailoa said at the time. “tennessee is nice. I know coach tyson helton and i know coach pruitt, coach niedermeyer and all those guys. It just felt like family over there.”

Follow up on Tagovailoa
Yes, he's the quarterback I've been hinting about for the last month or so.
Tennessee has quietly continued to recruit Taulia Tagovailoa hard, even after he committed to Alabama. The feedback has been positive, too. The family likes UT's staff and obviously the path to the field is much clearer with the Vols. Taulia has also been in communication with various UT commits.
As has been reported elsewhere, Tagovailoa is set to return to Knoxville tonight. Alabama is trying to get him back on campus this weekend. Will plans change now that everything has been made public? We'll see what all unfolds over the next 24 hours.

Update on Baby Tua
Posted on 6/15/18 at 5:34 am to Vols&Shaft83
Tua explains our QB recruiting. For a while it seemed like a new QB prospect popped up every week only for the staff to cool on them a few weeks later. I think they were just looking for backup plans and have Tua as their #1.
At the moment this class looks like it is going to be really good, like Fulmer in his prime good.

Anyone else think the Mauer commit has anything to do with news they may have received on Tailua?

So any fun new nuggets? Or are we going to be pretty quiet till the season?
