My thoughts as well. Also DT seems to be a huge question mark to me. Losing both Tuttle and A. Johnson will be tough to overcome.

Will hurt, but I think we'll be fine. Have 3 DTs committed already, one is an absolute monster JUCO. Plus we have Gooden coming back, he's improving.

I saw that Noland Smith is supposed to be on campus this weekend. Not sure we can sneak in there for his services, but getting him on campus is a nice surprise

Georgia commits Travon Walker and Trezmen Marshall are coming too. Not really sure wtf is going on with that.

Ok, I'm kinda uneasy about those Georgia commits all coming in with Haselwood. I smell a rat, with a bowl cut

Until one of them flips, I'm convinced that this is a trojan horse

After the douche throwing our hat last year I can understand that. Hell, I'd be happy with them keeping their two, us getting the Greyson guys; and we'll just fight it out over Haselwood. I realize that's basically what is going on but, you get what I'm saying

Lol I mean, at least Logue has shown interest and there’s a chance he can be flipped. The other 3 seems fishy af

That's true. This staff has been around it though and is full of great recruiters. YOu have to think they are well versed in what all is going on and will have Haselwood occupied and not giving them the 1v1 chances with him..if in fact that's the motive.

The melts on some of the other boards about Pappoe are pretty good. Started seeing the "good, let him go" and "I doubt he could even shed a block from ____" threads. Auburn guys seem worried, and then all of a sudden confident b/c of a video on volquest where he talks about the Aub LB coach. Feels good to have a staff that has us stirring the pot in the middle of all this.

Kids want to take visits/free trips. Tennessee is capitalizing on a down weekend in college football. Better to have them on campus now than waste time in December, IMO. Vols will take the optics of hosting a couple committed 5-stars. Right now, they’re not in play for Nolan or Walker but they are trying to make a move with Zion and Trezman has been a low-key MLB target for months.

CoWorker: True, why are you bulging right now?

Me: Shannon Terry just put in a flip pick in on the crystal Ball for Owen Pappoe.

CoWorker: What fricking language are you speaking in?

There's no massive conspiracy — good or bad — with the UGA guys visiting this weekend. This has nothing to do with Watson Sr., either.

Tennessee is capitalizing on multiple long-term relationships and there being no good games in the South this weekend.

The Vols lose nothing by hosting guys like Nolan Smith and Travon Walker — even if they are very long shots at flipping either prospect. It makes much more sense to do it now (on a game weekend) vs. investing that time in December. Those guys have said they're going to take visits and enjoy the process, so Tennessee did well to grab one of those weekends. At worse, you show them a good time and they go back and tell their 2020, 2021 teammates that Pruitt & Co., are well worth a look down the road.

The Vols are at least more in the conversation with MLB Trezman Marshall, who will be making his third trip to Tennessee since the spring, and DL Zion Logue.

(Not counting some big potential uncommitted visitors) You could make a strong case that Logue, despite being the lowest ranked commit on a top-heavy weekend, is the most important prospect slated to be on campus this weekend. He's an in-state kid who's outperformed his ranking. Logue has maintained steady dialogue with UT's staff, and a good OV could go a long ways in a potential flip for a prospect this staff really covets.

As for the Grayson trio, Tennessee continues to make moves with 5-star linebacker Owen Pappoe and 4-star defensive back Kenyatta Watson. A key behind the scenes staffer with both prospects is Tino Sunseri. Pappoe is a very savvy prospect, who has long known how not to reveal much in interviews, but based on our time in Loganville earlier this week, it’s apparent Tennessee has a real shot. Pappoe really respects Pruitt and his potential to be developed by the current staff into a top-line linebacker in the SEC. As Pappoe said himself, getting past his relationship with AU linebackers coach Tim Williams will “be hard,” but the Vols might have the right combination of staffers to pull it off. Pappoe will sign and enroll in December, so getting him on campus next month officially could be the difference for the Vols.

Similarly, Watson also plans to take an OV here next month. While he doesn’t quite garner the attention or stars of Pappoe, the Grayson DB is super long (legit 6-3) and has had an outstanding senior season. He’s developed a nice rapport with Terry Fair and he’s known Pruitt for years. His family also really likes Knoxville. Former Vol Anthony Sessions is his position coach at Grayson and has upped his Tennessee pitch of late, too. Watson may unofficially visit this weekend.

We noted earlier this week that 5-star commit Wanya Morris will now enroll early and could be back in town this weekend. Morris’ enrollment plans can’t be understated. Morris will now have a chance to jump on a similar track as Trey Smith in 2017. He was expecting to play a lot next season anyways, but now he’ll be in a much better position to do so. He needs to learn to love the weight room, and an extra spring with Fitz should really help.

Perhaps the most important visitor who could be in town Saturday is 5-star tackle Darnell Wright. A ride issue prevented Wright from visiting last weekend, but Tennessee hopes to get the 5-star on campus Saturday. A potential roadblock could be what happens in Wright’s game on Friday night. A loss would end his high school career and he may not feel like getting in a car for four hours. While a visit would help continue their momentum, the Vols are trending well with the nation’s top offensive lineman.
