What home run do you think we could realistically get at this point?

The only homeruns that are still on the table are Leach, Petersen, Marrone, and Les (Contingent on an all star staff including Tee).

Do not mention Gruden's name, he's dead to me.

Buttcliff + Tee is a home run, but he already told us no. Maybe Phil can talk to him.

Everything else is low 2nd tier/ Straight up Slaw

You're using "homerun" way too generously. The only homeruns I see on there are Petersen and the one you don't want mentioned. Marrone would be both interesting and exciting.

I'm talking about in our current predicament. Patterson is off the market, Frost is Nebraska bound no matter what we offer, who else from the original Hotboard is left?

Okay I get what you’re saying. That said, I would argue that there are no home runs. I’m assuming Petersen won’t be contacted and would certainly pass if he was.

Per sources with direct knowledge of the proceedings, Fulmer’s next round of talks is set to include, but not be limited to, Washington’s Chris Petersen and Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt.

Hopefully Heavy P can convince him. Not saying the chances are high that he could, but if Petersen is willing to interview there is always a chance. Especially if Phil has that fire again.

It’s looking like Steele

Big board for Fulmer seems to be

-Chad Morris
-Venables
-Steele
-Pruitt
-Miles

Not sure on the order, but I am hoping for either Morris or Venables atp

We have the option of hiring Miles and go with Steele?... If that happens then I am OUT

Guise, I think we need to relax. I don't think it's gonna be Steele, but if it is, there's going to be a lot of Vols on this staff. Including Tee. Recruiting would be off the charts.

I also think that judging him based solely on his stint at Baylor is unfair. Saban or Bob Stoops wouldn't have made a bowl game at Baylor back then.

Like I said, let's not freak out just yet, because I don't think it will be Steele anyway.

Chuck Reedy went 23-22, with 1 bowl and another 7 win non-bowl season between 1993-96, just two years before Steele took over.

The guy before Reedy was Grant Teaff, who went 128-105-6. Made 8 bowls in 20 years. 4 other years of 6+ wins with no bowl invite.

Steele's only conference win in four years took three missed extra points by 2-10 Kansas, and a miracle in the last minute and a half to win.

Yeah, I can't do Steele now. I tried to convince myself, but I just can't keep up the charade.

Steele is family, and I hate myself for saying this, but if Steele becomes imminent, SCALPhizazzzz
