supposedly incredible improvement, but no knows until we see them in action.

They'll have to bring it in the first game because our first game is against West Virginia...at WV

The WV match up should be a pretty decent game. What's the feeling going into that one?

I know this will be toughest Tennessee team we've faced since we've been in the conference but don't underestimate us. Y'all know what happened the last time we came off a 5-7 season. You know we have a defense and we've brought in a shite ton of transfers to fill in the gaps to our offense. Looking forward to the game. Hopefully it's a good one like the last two in Knoxville. I remember the first one went into 4 OT's and the second one you guys almost tied it up near the end.

I think they give us more trouble than Kentucky and Vanderbilt going forward, but more on the level of South Carolina and not Florida/Georgia.

Mizzou has won their division outright 4 times in the last 9 years. We tied for it in 2010. We're not a big six level school but we aren't a bottom feeder either. Mizzou has been a middle of the pack type program the last 15 or so years.

I think if in the next 10 years it's near .500 then it could become a rivarly, but if the VOLS go on a streak then I see the game being on par with USCe.

I bet we go 9-1 against Missouri over the next decade.

I bet you don't! In fact, over the next decade I believe Mizzou will own the series...

It was a blessing. It had to be done, he was unfit to coach.

He signed his resignation letter in front of everyone with that call. Never in my life have I seen a coach simply quit like that but he did.

And yes, it was definitely a blessing. Had he not done that chances were good we would've been stuck with him for another year because of the financial situation and paying off too many coaches at the same time. That game made the decision for the AD and boosters, imo. Had Dooley limped along the next season the damage to the program would've been even worse and it was already catastrophic.

Pinkel did a good job and had you guys respectable most years for sure. It will be interesting to see how all of the first year head coaches fare in the East.

The Georgia, Missouri, and South Carolina programs all basically reset and start from scratch right now. Losing your 2 DL recently looks like a pretty big blow. The DE more than Brantley, but both together looks like it hurt.

MIZZOU did win the first 3 against UT.

For perspective, in the first 24 match-ups against Vanderbilt, UT was 2-19-3. That is a winning percentage of 8%. UT didn't win a single game against Vandy until the 13th time they played. Now the record is 75-30-5...that's a winning percentage of 68%. UT has won every game but 5 in the match-up since 1960.

So, UT has already started of more successfully against Missouri than they did Vanderbilt.

UT was down recently. Since UT started playing football in 1902, here are the streaks of consecutive losing seasons.

1903-1906 (4 seasons)
1910-1912 - (3 seasons)
2010-2013 (4 seasons)

Compare that to Missouri's streaks of double digit winning seasons.

1960
2007
2008
2013
2014

So two of Missouri's five best seasons in their schools history, come during UT's emergence from it's worst stretch in over a century. It was the perfect storm. The clouds have cleared, the storms have passed...

Lol no. Besides the geographical separation, we're wayyyy too good for them.

That series is currently 1-3 thanks to Dooley but it will be no worse than 10-4 ten years from now.
