I played safety and WR in high school and one year of D2 ball as just a WR until I transferred to Texas and didn't even attempt a walk-on
All district in 12 4A Texas hsfb, had 4 ints my senior year, caught a punt at the 9 yard line and almost housed it...got my heel nipped at the 4 yard line. I wasnt the featured punt returner so that was one of two I caught...the other I only managed 6 yards.
Where do I sign up, and more importantly...what does my NIL package look like?

I didn't. I played Varsity Man Whore my Junior and Senior Year. Also was All Country Commercial Painting and Framing. Some of the Big Schools looked at me for my work with Aluminum Framing, but I never got an offer.
Also Honorable Mention Concrete Flat Work.
Even in my little neck of the rural Indiana Woods, I wondered why in the Hell those boys were out there beating their brains against each other for free. Twice a day during the summers.
For a jacket ? And the right for fifty of them to try to cock-block each other for the ten cheer girls ?
Made no sense to me.

The feeling of running out on the field through a sign/fog machine with the band playing and crowd cheering is quite addictive. Then the high you feel after a win against a hated rival is like nothing else..no amount of alcohol or drugs can match that euphoria. The game itself is fun to play as well, true team sport.

I've been told that. From fella's that played at the big schools around here like Trinity and St. X and such.
I did a hitch in the Army. Never got that "vibe" from that either. Although I've heard dudes that apparently did.
Gotta' be a personality thing. I just don't have it.
