It seems to me at this point that UF should just hire Golesh and LSU should just hire the Tulane guy. Apparently we're offering Lane over $13 million a year.

California and Louisiana are tied for the highest poverty rate.

That's for supplemental assistance

By Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM)
The Supplemental Poverty Measure offers a broader view of economic hardship by including government benefits and subtracting necessary costs like taxes and medical bills, while adjusting for local housing costs.

According to data from 2022 through 2024 using the SPM, the states with the highest poverty rates were:

1. California and Louisiana (tied): 17.7%
2. Mississippi: 16.4%

Actual poverty rates: The states with the highest official poverty rates, according to 2023 data from the U.S. Census Bureau, are:

1. Louisiana: 18.9%
2. Mississippi: 18.0%
3. New Mexico: 17.8%
4. West Virginia: 16.7%
5. Kentucky: 16.4%
