If South Carolina or Missouri upsets Georgia when they play, but otherwise all the favored teams win, we could end up with 5 teams all tied at 7-2:

quote:

1. Alabama (7 - 2)
With Kentucky, above Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4691).
Above Kentucky based on head-to-head record (1-0).
2. Kentucky (7 - 2)
With Alabama, above Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4691).
Below Alabama based on head-to-head record (0-1).
3. Tennessee (7 - 2)
With Georgia and Texas, below Alabama and Kentucky based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4444).
With Georgia, above Texas based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4444).
Above Georgia based on winning percentage against #12 teams all played one time (1-0).
4. Georgia (7 - 2)
With Tennessee and Texas, below Alabama and Kentucky based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4444).
With Tennessee, above Texas based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4444).
Below Tennessee based on winning percentage against #12 teams all played one time (0-1).
5. Texas (7 - 2)
With Georgia and Tennessee, below Alabama and Kentucky based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4321).
Below Georgia and Tennessee based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4321).

Even if Georgia wins out, it's easy to see the potential logjam at 7-2 for four teams. LSU has some say in it, playing both Tennessee and Texas - they could turn the massive logjam at 7-2 into one at 6-3 instead.

I want nothing to do with this meaningless game. If we ain’t playing then we don’t lose important players to injuries and any playoff run Bama makes hinges on having those players available.

I think Texas is doable but man, Tennessee looks tough right now. Especially on the road.

Not me. If this was 1992 I would agree with you. It’s not. It’s all about the playoff now. Let Georgia and Tennessee go knock the hell out of each other and take all those injuries.

I mean, yeah, I don't think so either.

It's just the craziest scenario with a 5-way tie for first.
