Going for it on 4th and 1 is something Beamer can defend. Make it and get two more minutes of possession time. Their kicker was 50% on the year from 40-49 yards away. Thoughts?

No decisions could’ve prevented Beamer or South Carolina from blowing that game.

After the first half I’m sure he was still confident he would get another touchdown at some point to keep the game out of reach

Our defense just had other plans for him

The problem is when he goes for it on 4th and short he runs the same stupid play that’s never worked all year. He literally gets on the headset and tells the OC to run it up the middle. Been doing it all year.

My issue is they run this stupid play from shotgun. Go under center and be stupid a little closer to the line of scrimmage.

Our kicker is a walk on. It would have been almost 10 yards longer than his longest of the year on a gusty day. A&M's kicker had already missed two from shorter distances.

I hear what you're saying, but it was the right decision. Just the wrong play call.

Why is everyone focusing on the offense? The collapse was more on the other side.

Kevin Sumlin lost countless games doing the same thing

OK. There was a minuscule chance that their walk-on kicker was going to kick that field goal successfully. It was outside his effective range, and the wind was problematic.

Any reasonable person would think that the chance of making that fourth down conversion was significantly better.

Because we had 300 yards offense in the first half and 76 in the second. The offense put the defense in a bad spot.
