Maryville has changed so much since the last time lived here. Downtown has biker bars and nice restaurants instead of boarded up shops. They sold the old sandwich shop and put in a low key jazz bar. They have grown tons.

I don't know why anyone would want this kid in their program at this point.

Why? Because he wouldn't give coach his cellphone at lights out? He had a disagreement with a highschool coach.

If that was the only situation, sure, but he has one of those things happen every 10 days.
I already said I think a flyer on him works for some places, but he's absolutely a trainwreck.

That's been far, far from his only issues in high school

- He's been suspended MULTIPLE times, not just that once
- He skipped part of a playoff game to take the ACT
- He had the cell phone incident (not much a team player as you' can start to take in)
- He didnt have his academics in order
- He commits/signs with UGA after having a new favorite every other week then backs off on that a week later begging to be released from LOI
Pretty clear that coaching staff was done with him, which tells me a lot. LSU has a close connection with (a person on) North Shore coaching staff and finally at some point they basically said he wasn't worth the headache and we backed off, and so did basically everyone else
Agreed he's an elite talent, but he could also be a major program sh*t stirrer too based on his very rocky past. Great if it works out, but potentially peel your program apart type of player if it doesnt.

Is that the spin Tennessee writers are trying to use?

Pretty sure that's not the way it went down. He was begging for the UGA coaches to take him back. Even apologized on national tv

No spin necessary.
We take any and all troubled youths. If God believes in second chances, who are we to judge

Pretty sure you got a bad memory. Your coaches gave him an LOI to sign in the early period, he signed it and sent it in. He was signed to go to UGA, and was it not a couple weeks later was asking to get of it, he wanted to announce at under armor game but decided he didnt want to go to UGA any more. That's how that went down. He could never make up his mind. He apologized for dragging the UGA coaching staff through that, and how he's made so many bad decisions this recruiting process...he wasn't begging them to take him back. They already took him by accepting his LOI in the first place.

If we take this kid it could really derail the program. We may not win the SEC for 20 years if we start taking kids like this.

So, Tenn has nothing to lose, eh?

You mean the decade long walk through the desert may continue??
As people have mentioned, if he signs with Tennessee he'll be on a short leash. I don't think there's anything to lose.

Yep - and like I said before, I feel like this is very different than bringing in a "bad guy". From everything I've read and heard Evans isn't a "bad guy", he's just a very immature guy.
You still don't want those guys around if they can't figure it out, but it's a different situation than a guy who has multiple violent offenses in his past and doesn't seem to be any different.

Oh we will take those guys too.
