QB. Not really a must until 2019
CB. Could have signed 2, but still have a good group coming back, not high in numbers though
OL. May have the best in the Country
DL. May have the best in the Country
WR. A fantastic group

I am a witness

I keep seeing this, but two years ago y'all signed Cleveland, Swain, and Hammond who were all top 170 in the 247 composite. I think it has more to do with the QB situation you've had down there.

No. Has everything to do with the coaching. We've had Drisk, Brissett, Grier at QB. We have had talent out the arse at QB, and absurdly bad coaching for that talent. Briss and Jeff are playing on Sunday's. Grier was in New York for the Heisman ceremony if he hadn't hurt his finger.

Still. Hammond and Swain are still here. Leaves UF with seven top 100 WR's now. Add in Toney is a three star that was very good last year.

This is the most Mullen has had weapon wise to work with since he left UF. So I expect to see a pretty decent offense this year even if breaking in a new QB. We have one of the best RB cores in the SEC as well(SEC country ranked it third) to help Jones.

Well losing Surtain sucked pretty bad. And him waiting until the last minute to let us know made it worse because there wasn't time to get a replacement.

However I am pretty happy overall with the class.

We got (I think these are right, I can't see 247 at work) 3 JUCO: #1 OT, OG, and WDE. And I don't think points for JUCOs are as good as normal recruits. Got a kicker who although he is really outstanding (Grad transfer so proven) isn't adding points either. Plus we didn't sign anyone for 2 of our slots. So, 15th ranked is really not indicative of the guys we got.

Our depth on both lines, LB/Edge, Safety, and WR, is good to go now. Thin numbers wise at QB, RB, and CB but good talent for the guys we have. I think the chicken-little Tiger fans may be pleasantly surprised with how things turn out this year.

OL should've been better. Hevesy should be on a short leash. Compared to what it could've been it was ok. Missing on NPF and Boykin hurt. Getting EJ and the offensive haul is nice.

UGA begs to differ.
Jamree Salyer, OG - 5 star, ranked #10 player nationally
Cade Mays, OT - 5 star, #22
Trey Hill, OG - 4 star, #62
Warren Ericson, OC - 4 star, #263
Owen Condon, OT - 3 star, #447

That's how you recruit an offensive line.

But our JUCO guys can play today. Your freshman 5*’s likely not.

UGA has a nasty class tho. He meant prob one of the best OLines heading into next year. We literally got guys who can play today.

Never count on a JUCO. We signed one last year and fell behind with quickness. 2 of our frosh guys might start so I assume they can also play right away.

There is a reason for that.

Andrew Thomas (TFr 4*) was better this year than any JUCO OL UGA has had in my memory.

In some cases this is absolutely correct.

In the case of Salyer - he's the highest rated guard prospect in many years and one of the highest rated ever. Most think he starts from Day1. The rest of our guys will probably go into backup rolls.

Oh I know. But the 3 guys we got would be rated pretty high if they were graded as high school seniors, we would likely be around top 10 that way.

It's because they aren't elite prospects. They wouldn't be rated high out of high school either. Doesn't mean they can't contribute but fans always overrate the immediate impact of their juco.
