Why have so many players from La. struggled to make an impact at Bama?

We often hear that the decision to attend bama is about business, and that the recruits feel they will be developed better at bama.
I decided to take a look back at how well this "business" decision has turned out for all of the players who went to bama from La.

I was surprised to find that most of them have not been very successful as it relates to having an impact on the field at bama or being drafted and playing in the NFL. I was shocked to find that not 1 player signed from La. has yet been drafted in the 1st rd.

Here is a list of the players from La. that made a business decision to attend bama:

2007
4*Luther Davis-Below average player. Not much better as a bagman. Not drafted.

2008
4* Robby Green-Average player. Above average pot-enthusiast. Not drafted.

2009
4* Eddie Lacy- aAbove average player. Well above average appetite. Well below average work ethic. 2nd rd draft pick who is not very popular in Green Bay at the moment.
4* Darrington Sentimore- Made no impact at bama and transferred. Not drafted.
4* Kenny Bell-Below average player. Above average at reproducing. Not drafted.

2011
4* Bradley Sylve- very little impact at bama. Not drafted.

2012
Landon Collins- very good player. 2nd rd draft pick. His mother thinks he would have been great at LSU and received that 1st rd draft pick that she knows he deserved. Momma knows best.
4*Denzel Devall- Average player. Not drafted.

2013
4* Tim Williams- above average situational player. Above average pot-enthusiast. Well above average head-case. 1st rd talent..will fall to 2nd or 3rd rd probably.
4* Raheem Falkins- Above average bench warmer. Highly unlikely he will be drafted.

2014
5* Cam Robin$on-Very good player. Below average at possessing firearms and pot. Likely 1st rd draft pick.
4* Hootie Jones- below average player. Above average bench warmer. Unlikely draft pick.
4* Cam Sims- Another below average player and above average bench warmer. Unlikely draft pick.
3* OJ Smith- All-american bench warmer. Unlikely to be drafted.

The only two players that I think LSU really missed, in that entire group, are Landon and Cam.
LSU has done a more than adequate job of replacing all of the others with players that were/are much better.
This is why I don't follow recruiting closely or worry about which players choose to leave the state.
More often than not we never hear from them again.

Fascinating how LSU continues to lose to a team with worse players. What has it been, six games?

That is why "The Hat" is gone. Pay attention.

I did not say LSU had better players than bama overall.

I said the guys that went to bama from La. were adequately replaced by others, other than Landon and Cam of course..

I agree. No need to melt every time a La kid chooses bama

Never have, never will.

I have never spent 1 dollar on any recruiting site and have never followed any player on any form of social media.

I won't go as far as to wish them well when they choose to play at a division rival, though.

Was that the game that was tied 0-0 heading into the 4th quarter until bama held three players in 1 play to take the lead?

Oh yeah, I remember.

Hmmm can't stomach a LSU basketball game so you have to post about what is on your mind. ALABAMA.

So what you're saying is 4/10 graduated/declared Louisiana players were or will likely be 1st or 2nd Rd picks?

That's pretty good...

This game is more painful than losing Landon and Cam to bama. I swear.

That seems like a pretty good average.

Butthurt is strong with the OP. Wonder what the success rate of getting 4/5 star players into the first two rounds of the NFL draft....

Actually no, I listed 14 players and stated that only 2 have had any meaningful impact in a way that would make me regret that they didn't choose to go to LSU.

If you listen to bama fans around here, you would swear there have been dozens of La. players that have gone on to greatness at bama.

Even if the number is 4, that is not enough to make me or any reasonable LSU fan panic when any young man chooses to attend bama. Bama may sign 5 or 6 La. players this year. Maybe 2 will have any meaningful impact. I won't lose any sleep over it.

I am more concerned with how Coach O and his staff finishes with this class, to fill the void of the defectors, if you will.
