He was running 4.4's and 4.5's this summer at 260, he can easily be successful at RB or LB @ 260lbs running those kind of times.

No he was not..

Uh, yes, he absolutely did.

You realize he runs track too, right? The dude is insanely fast for his size. Ran a 4.57 at the dallas opening then ran a 4.49 at the big opening.

Devin White now outweighs our starting nose tackle. I just don't see him being productive at either RB or LB anymore. I loved him at 240. 260 just seems way to big. I still hope we can get him though just for the potential. I'm just not excited about it anymore.

Kody Walker, our backup running back weighs 260 fwiw.

He's also gonna surprise some people this year with how good he is fwiw.

The problem is his shuttle time is by far the worst for any RB that went to The Opening. The shuttle is indicative of lateral quickness and an ability to start & stop on a dime. Now if compared to LBs, his shuttle time is just average. So unless he plays in a plant and go schemes don't see him super successful unless he slims down and works on his agility.

If I remember correctly he finished second behind Fournette(Senior) when he was a Junior in the 100 meter dash. Think about that for a second.

The dude has elite speed and is 260 pounds. He doesnt need any lateral quickness. He hits a hole, runs over whoever, then breaks away from everyone else.

If Buga had 150+ as a freshman just imagine how bad he will tear you apart this year with a 260 pound NT

You sir are delusional. If this was the case no college or NFL scouts would look for anything but a size and a blazing 40 time. Yes 260 lbs is big (especially at 5'11") but at highest levels you need an ability to be elusive instead of "1 plant & go as you bowl over would be tacklers". Yes that will work on occasion (ref: Buga & aTm last year) but RBs can't be one dimensional and be successful. If that's all you got in tool kit you might as well be a fullback. He needs to consider slimming down and really working on his agility if he wants to move on past the next level.

We're talking about college. Big backs can make a big impact, especially ones with elite speed. I remember Alley Broussard like it was yesterday, dude had some of the slowest lateral cuts but would just run folks over...and he was probably a 4.7 or so guy, not 4.5 like White.

So you think this young man wants to just be a "college stud"? Read again my last sentence? It is a fact that you can increase you lateral quickness through hard work. So may be it would be in his best interest to slim down to the 240 lbs range, work on it and then add more muscle if he wants to remain a RB? If not, may be it would be in his best interest to consider the defensive side of the ball if he wants to continue his career past the collegiate level.
