Demond Demas transferred high schools this past summer because he wanted to GTFO of a bad school and a bad part of Houston. The North Forest coach, instead of understanding the bigger picture went scorched earth on him and (if you believe his host parents) outright lied at his UIL hearing. UIL, being the garbage organization that it is, listened to his old coach and suspended Demond for his entire senior year. And if that wasnt enough, Demond just tweeted he wont be playing in the all american game and it's being said that is due to the fact that kids can't play in the AA game if they were suspended for an entire year

I understand this isn't usually the type of stuff that is on here but this is such a fricked up situation that I feel like it needs to be shared. The system absolutely just failed Demond in a colossal way and the pieces of trash who put themselves before their student need to be shamed for taking away his entire senior year and a once in a lifetime opportunity in San Antonio

It's kind of strange you're this worked up over a kid not being able to play in an all star game.

Clifton Terrell.

Also, based on where the UIL operates out of (Bellmont Hall - t.u.) is it any wonder they ruled against him? If he had committed to t.u. he would have been allowed to play.

The reason why this pisses me off has nothing to do with Demond. Hes lucky here in that he already moved in with his host family so he got out regardless, and that he already has his spot at A&M. It has everything to do with the system that's supposed to be putting these kids first but didn't. In the grand scheme of things, Demond lost his senior year and his all american game which is shitty enough. But yes, not horrible. But what if the next kid this happens to isn't as lucky? That's the point. The people who let this happen will most likely let this happen again, and next time the kid might not be in as good a spot as Demond is

Can't the family sue Terrell personally for slander on his behalf?

Was it not a legit move? Who cares why someone transfers.

If they can prove what he said was wrong maybe. I don’t know enough about Texas public schools but did he actually move ( change address ) Or did he decide to go somewhere outside of his district?

If it was a legit transfer then I feel bad for him for missing out a year. Luckily he was already a legit blue Chip prospect and it didn’t keep from going where he wanted to.

If he actually moved then 1. Who the frick cares why and 2. How can anybody prove it was a specific reason?

judging by your handle and posting style, you are a california transplant that is not accustomed to the inner workings of texas politics so its understandable how you might be ignorant as to your place in line. long story short, get used to it aggie. you actually dont run the state.

Yeah that’s pretty shitty. I mean I basically moved across the street so my kids could go to a better elementary school. Once I changed address then I was free and and clear. Same should have been the case for him.

The best part is that his host family he moved in with was a bunch of t-sips. Kid just wanted to get out of the slums, and didn't even go to an "athletic" powerhouse
