What recruits want in a college (Why Ole Miss is having success)

I started a post earlier predicting who I felt Ole Miss would sign on February 3rd. I am new to the rant but I see many fans on here think Ole Miss is paying money to players using #TheNetwork. This would appear to be the most likely reason because to admit your coaches got out worked is very hard to admit. Players today do not give a flip about what your program has done beyond the last five years. You are trying to see the world as a 40 year old and not a high school senior if you think otherwise. Players today pick schools based on chemistry with there position coach, head coach, and teammates. Having great relationships is what creates the family feel they want. Next I would include playing time, followed by academic support. Facilities, with the exception of Oregon, are all pretty similar today. That was not the case 20 years ago for Ole Miss. We fell way behind starting in the 70's and only started playing catch up since the late 90's. Tuberville planted the seeds for our success in 1994 when he started the push on campus to ban the flag. Twenty years later we sign the best recruiting class at Ole Miss in my lifetime. Think about that number, twenty. To older posters that seems like a long time ago but we remember it. Now think about twenty years to a high school senior. You are talking ancient history. We are no longer constrained by the old images of Old Miss to today's kids. We have recent success. We can offer early playing time. We have a coaching staff that has lost only one person from the staff in the last 3 years. That is stability, the family atmosphere kids want. Freeze and his staff will not be out worked for recruits. Oxford gives a small town feel but close enough to Memphis if you like big cities. Ole Miss will be a player in the SEC from now on. Shout out to the best AD in the country Ross Bjork who made all this possible.

That's a lovely book you wrote there. Unfortunately I find it blasphemous to read anything longer than The Bible

Tunsil's stepdad said otherwise.........think he's more closer to the program than anyone here. NCAA investigated and found a few wrongs, even with their hands tied.

Incorrect.Ole Miss has good facilities. But not elite facilities like say, Alabama or A&M.

No personal offense intended, but Ole Miss has several major disadvantages. Sure it's quaint and Southern if that is your thing. It's also isolated and insular, has a highly publicized and sad personal history pertaining to black students that can be unfairly exploited by rivals, and shares a State with another major University. I understand how it might appeal to some kids, and offer a respite from the harsh environments some of the recruits come from, but it will never have the broad annual appeal that many other schools have.

Like I said facilities are at the bottom of recruits wish list. They do not have to be great just on par with others.

I have no problem saying Ole Miss is currently recruiting well despite these disadvantages. I'm not however going to pretend that Ole Miss disadvantages are actually advantages. But don't let me stop you from creating whatever Ole Miss-centric Narrative you need to get a good night's sleep.

Abusing a woman physically doesn't make you a liar, it makes you a piece of shite.
You can be a preacher or a President and not be the type of the person that abuses women but still be a liar.
The two don't necessarily go hand-in-hand.
