I was reading the Vandy 247 board and honestly I'm a little surprised that a lot of their fans believed that these recruits were committing to the school and not Franklin. They seem shocked they would follow him.
Obviously these record breaking classes were due to the coach and much like many could have predicted, their recruiting class is falling apart quickly without him.

Franklin won 24 games in 3 years at Vandy and finished ranked twice
Kiffin won 28 games in 5 years at Tenn and USC and finished ranked once.

I never knew how much every Vandy fan apparently hated James Franklin. Odd, it's like no one ever mentioned it before he was entertaining an offer from another school.

Those of us that are starting to dislike Franklin are not upset he left. It's the fact that every sign points to him basically trying to flip every Vandy commit to PSU. The bad part for him that it's supposed to be a recruiting dead period. Not sure what the rules are exactly...but I would bet he's breaking some.
Anyway, here's a list of Vanderbilt recruiting changes that have occurred today. This is mostly compiled from Chris Smith's work for the Vanderbilt 247 page. Also, I had not seen anything about Michael Sawyers being offered by PSU, so he's not on this list.
