They're now calling each other racists in the Tim Williams thread on the LSURB to go along with their baseless character assassination of a high school kid.

God, I love when we pull a recruit out of Louisiana.

And they call us crazy and delusional..

For the record, it's ONE guy that's being called out for being a racist because he made a stupid comment.

Not to mention Williams' teammates included the sons of Les Miles AND Steve Kragthorpe.

Should I tell the Bama fans about Williams being suspended multiple times this year? I'm sure Nick will clean that shite up amirite??

Well you just told them and then asked if you should.

Doesn't matter. The kid has talent and the Alabama staff wanted him. I'm happy. 3 in 4.

No doubt about it, Bama is THE premier program in college football right now. Any recruit would be stupid to pass up an offer to go there. However, this particular situation is being blown way out of proportion. "Bama steals #1 recruit out of Louisiana" was the fricking headline on ESPN.com this morning. When in reality he wasn't even a top 10 guy and LSU backed off of him months ago. There isn't a staff in the country with more info no Williams and it's not like we don't have a track record with d-linemen. I guess I should be hoping LSU can recover from this??

No, that's not what ESPN said, unless they've changed.

Here's the headline I see on ESPN Recruiting section:

quote:

Williams, top player in La., commits to Alabama

Doesn't say #1 player, says top player and nowhere does it say "Bama Steals" which would lead people to believe we stole him from LSU. I know we are all playing the semantics game here to fit agenda's.

No need to run the kid down becuase he choose to go out of state and play for Bama. LSU didn't want him, fine, we don't really give a damn. He's a good player and we hope he is a badass for us. LSU fans want to damage control when there is no real need.

It was on ESPN's main page a little before 6am.

See above.

No one's running him down. This just isn't a LC case where Nick took one from us. This kid is good but the LSU staff feels like we already have better committed and there's still a few fish out there.

And ESPN had Yeldon 4th. Behind two Florida State recruits and an LSU recruit.

ESPN had no clue on that one. I think Yeldon proved that with 1100 yards and 12 TDs as a true freshman.

Chris Casher wasn't expected to qualify. And I've already explained the circumstances surrounding Jaboo Winston.

Kwon Alexander was basically a wash, as Alabama signed Denzell Deval from Louisiana. Both were LBs that fit different schemes.

Is this true? I don't remember hearing anything about it. Do you have a link?

Thanks for posting this - now we actually know why LSU cooled on the kid.

He almost didn't make it to the playoffs for U-High. Miles' kid is a starting WR on the team also. Les knows everything he needs to know about Tim.

One, I do not follow ESPN's recruiting coverage other than on NSD for their news updates on prospects signing. Two, Tim Williams has yet to play a down of college football. So we'll see who's right in a few years.

Well for not following ESPN recruiting, you sure were pretty sure they had no clue on that particular issue. So which is it?

That's all fine and well, but when a top player is suspended it usually appears in a newspaper article. I haven't been able to find any such articles. Where are you getting your info?

I may not religiously follow any recruiting service byt 247Sports, but I do educate myself on other services' rankings. T.J. Yeldon was rated the #4 player in the state of Alabama for the 2012 recruiting cycle. He contributed more in his true freshmen season than the three above him, according to ESPN, combined.

Back to the point, I don't agree with ESPN's judgement of Tim Williams. I think Beckwith and White are clearly the top two players in Louisiana.

You don't know anything about U-High do you? I have family that coaches there.
