But Urban recruited Hernandez!!!
Seriously though, I wish this kid the best no matter what. Sucks if he screwed himself out of a chance to be the shining jewel of someone's class because he's an immature 17 year old (almost all 17 year olds are after all)

And LOL at Urban Meyer backing off a 5* player because of off the field concerns.
Horseshite, you're backing off because you're not getting him. Urbs never had a problem with shady recruiting while at UF and I doubt he'd have a problem up at OSU.

Seriously though...I wonder what's going on with this situation. Wonder if it has to do with his recruitment or if it's something that he did himself that doesn't involve recruiting. I know he got suspended at some point for an issue with a teacher, but it has to be someone bigger than that for just about every school to back off

Well this thread has been an anti-climactic roller coaster.

I haven't heard a lot about red flags until recently. It sounds a lot like the services are hedging - they always do that with a big athlete the fan base takes a particular desire to.
"Wait will see, may not be what you think... I can't discuss it but it's there trust me..."
But that's the most obnoxious kind of gossip there is and it's presented as 'news.' The thing is if you can't discuss it then you shouldn't bring it up. They're trading in rumors, gossip, speculation, and all kinds of crap and alluding to something bad when they won't speak of it is just as wrong as spreading gossip they haven't verified.
If there's a red flag or two tell us. It's not too hard to say something like 'keep an eye on his grades' or 'had trouble getting along with X' or whatever.

People on the MB saying his handler has been openly asking for cash on visits

Damn. Post some of the comments. That sounds interesting.

I thought the OSU people saying they were backing off was BS because he wasn't high on them but maybe not. The last thing the Auburn people have said was UT had the momentum after his long visit to UT a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they will have something about it if its that bad.

Hmm... a Florida poster had said months ago that his handler was pushing him to Miami or OSU long ago and that ultimately he didn't think we could pull him away from that. He didn't say anything about payments but he did say that the particular guy in question steered kids to Miami and that TG's family was ok with either Miami or OSU.
I thought he might've been trolling us or just gossiping but in context it does sound like maybe TG has his own mind about things and the handler has another one and that's to get paid. We had a pimp like that Memphis not long ago - would 'help' fatherless kids who happened to be athletes and wanted payment for steering them places. He also hated UT with a passion.
TG staying as long as he did may have had a lot to do with him getting away from the cesspool he's in at home. He's not worth the risk of paying when we've already got 2 QBs on board. Plus, we're UT which means we'd get caught instantly.

It's probably just gossip but who the hell knows.

Upvoted and quoted for absolute truth.

Obviously I don't have a clue what the truth is and just posted what I saw from what are usually reliable sources. There sure seems to be a lot of smoke around this kid though. After seeing what Terrelle Pryor did to a program I'm happy to see Ohio State back off of Gibson IF any of the stuff out there is true.
I'm not talking about the tattoo issue with Pryor but all of the other stuff that seemed to have legs but never really came to light. He was poison to the football program from day 1.

^Our twitter chatter rumor is that it's academic concerns but no one can verify whether it's true or not.

If multiple schools really believe he had his hand out, they are either still recruiting or telling the NCAA

With so many different people claiming so many different things I think it's more gossip than anything else. For all we know there is no red flag or that red flag might be something as simple as a propensity toward shin splints or something like immaturity (which is a part of being a kid and often resolves itself once you get out of HS).
And it could absolutely nothing. Kid's a star and he's in the public spotlight. People want TG news and sometimes when there's no real news people make up their own.

hell the "red flag" could just be schools are backing off his recruitment because he or family etc.. has told them to or know where he is going. it could numerous things

If he wants cash then he very well could end up at Arizona. We all know about Rich Rod and didn't some booster include some stocks in some oil company to keep him? Sounds like they're desperate for success. This scares me because TG and KM are tight on twitter. If they both end up at Arizona there will be total meltdown.
