Your team is pathetic, your coaches have been fired or left, Dyer abandoned you, your recruits are decommitting and going elsewhere, you got beat by every good team you played, you got blown up in the Iron Bowl ... and this is all you've got.

See, this is the weird thing about Bama/Auburn fans digging each other.

If Chiz had done this then the Gumps would be all over it. But, because Auburn brought it up they get blasted for it.

Very strange indeed.

Settle down lil fella. I would have more if this discussion was about AU. It is not, so move along if you do not like talking about your team lil gump (bama in case you are confused).

Not sure that signing a paper that says Saban is going to commit a scholarship to him for the next class is against the rules.

signing a piece of paper is probably as non-binding as a verbal commitment, but a valid contract to later enter into another contract (i.e. LOI) would be committing UA to the scholarship which could be a violation. it all depends on who Saban lets hold the piece of paper.

you're a dumb arse if you think a guy committing last year to play for the Tide and then gets told this weekend that he doesn't have a scholarship isn't shitty.

Coach Saban is going to sign his name on a sheet of paper saying that I still have my scholarship.

I seriously doubt there was any piece of paper. Saban is a liar, but not stupid. The recruit is the stupid one for believing him.

So you dont think thats a recruiting violation

When are people going to stop thinking they know the recruiting rules better than Saban?

I read it just fine. The guy was originally promised a scholarship for this year, but Saban screwed him over once he got better talent to commit. Saban cost this young man a year of his life.

Let's not act as if greyshirting is a new and unheard of practice. And more importantly, how awesome is it that recruits are now willing to wait a semester to play for the crimson and white? Are we returning to the 70's ???

Per the recruit himself it doesnt sound like a grayshirt, sounds like he is not signing his LOI until next year

And that is the textbook definition of a grayshirt.

As for "they" (whoever "they" is) finding him a job, it is clearly not Alabama. Common sense tells you if we were going to cheat and provide improper benefits, we wouldn't do it for a guy we don't even want to sign. The kid is mistaken.

Not really. Kid got injured and we don't want him anymore. Happens all the time. He could call up Georgia St or Troy, MTSU, GA Southern, etc and they would take him in a heartbeat and give him the same free education and chance to play football.

The kid had a knee injury that would cause most coaches to just write the kid off completely. So no, he isn't. He is offering him A year delayed chance of a lifetime opposed to him signing with some rinky dink directional school because of his injury.

I have said for two years now saban is lying to recruits. Of course a lot of bama fans want to argue it, but he is not telling recruits up front there is a good possibility they will greyshirt. He waits until late in the process to make it more difficult for them to go elsewhere. Also, he is not upfront with roster numbers. He hides them and refuses to release them, officially citing privacy laws which he knows do not apply. He does not want players to know that approximately 35-40% of the recruits he signs will be cut no matter what they do, just to make room for others.

Anyway, it results in a better team. More power to him if recruits are too stupid to see it I suppose. They are the ones that pay for it, not saban. There has always been a price to pay for stupidity in this world and maybe it is better for the recruits/players to learn it early in life.

yea, I'm sure if this was a FSU / UF deal, you'd be OK with either side of the argument.

Quit being a hypocrit. For Alabama fans, what Alabama does is great and what auburn does it shitty. No matter the situation.

And it is the same deal with FSU / UF or UGA / UF. We're all hypocrits here. Deal with it.

It must really suck to have the only championship your school has won in over 50 years be bookended by your most hated rival.
