The majority of UGA posters in this thread (Fib, DOT34, etc) are very level headed when it comes to recruiting. In fact, if you were to dig up a few of the old threads from recruits that UGA wanted and lost, you will often see us at the top being congratulatory and lamenting our loss.

In this case, Tank might be a take, but it depends on what happens with Evans and others on the board. Tank wasn’t willing to take it the distance. UGA wasn’t willing to fold on their higher priority targets this early.

Programs recruit on different levels, and also on different levels by position. A running back that would be a “crown jewel” for South Carolina is farther down the board for Georgia in the same way that Bama usually passes on lots of very good DL in favor of the elite, or that Clemson hand picks only the nation’s best QBs.

I saw that tweet by Milton and with the timing of Tank announcing his commitment this Friday wondered if it was about him.

Don’t think so - not when you add this weekend’s crystal balls coming in for Tank to AU.

Evans to UGA, Tank to Auburn is my guess. Auburn is getting one hell of a RB.

After landing Bijan. Texas has likely moved on from recruiting evans. I think UGA or LSU gets Evans with Bama has the dark horse.

Jesus tap dancing Christ this board sure does have a lot of sad and pathetic people who are incapable of rational thought.... Find a single post from me anywhere on this board or anywhere on the internet that says I like Bigsby as a top tier back. I've been consistent and I have not wavered in the slightest. As I said, I AM IN THE MINORITY, and I'm ok with that. I see what I see, and my opinion wouldn't change without a change in the film available... commitment to UGA or not. I've done the same with other positions for UGA in the past, and more often than not, I've been right, or at a minimum, they've taken a longer time to develop/contribute. It doesn't make them bad, it just means I personally evaluate them lower.

On the flip side, DESPITE Lloyd committing to USC, I've still said I like him more than Bigsby, and see him at that next tier of back behind the Evans/Milton level.

The only guy I've changed my mind on significantly at RB is Milton, and I did that pretty well in advance of the UGA buzz picking up. It was simply that someone told me to take a look at his Soph footage, and explained that Jr season his team had a lot of OL problems... Sure enough, the footage supported it.

No one said "we didn't want him anyways"... Hell... if you look at the last sentence of the line you quoted, you even can see that I acknowledged, not only could I be wrong, but if he goes to Auburn, I'll probably live to regret every one of my critiques I've made of him... Bookmark the post and rub it in my face if I'm wrong... I really couldn't care less. My opinion isn't for sale, simply because a guy commits to my school or another.

Thanks for playing jumpstart... better luck next time.

I mean, don’t blast them too bad. They are South Carolina fans, and as such are very insecure. These things we know.

I could be wrong, but I think Evans is much more likely to end up at A&M, Bama or LSU than UGA.

What makes you say that?

Supposedly this has nothing to do with Evans and everything to do with the kid in the photo. Rapper, NBA Youngboy... Getting out of jail in 10 days.

So is pretty much every college football player or recruit in the south. That’s a pretty big reach

I won't say that we definitely land Evans, but between Kendall Milton's tweet and Tank Bigsby pushing his commitment forward from December to Friday, something big is happening in UGA RB recruiting.

Rumor is we told Tank we are full at RB. If so, I think that means we 1) got a yes from Evans, 2) silently flipped Lloyd from USCe, or 3) silently flipped Chaney from Miami. I don't think there's another RB out there we'd accept a commitment from over Tank other than those three.

And we're supposedly also full at ILB, but that's for a different thread.

Fib, you're not the only one. Smart and McGee weren't sold on Tank as a RB until very recently.

We wanted him badly as a DB, but Tank doesn't want to be a DB. he wants to be a RB.

We legitimately called out other UGA fans for having the attitude that Bigsby was now better because Lloyd committed to USC

Now, I’m sure some of them will do the flip flop back if we are able to flip Lloyd and Bigsby is headed elsewhere.

I think we both actually shared the same thoughts on Emery being better than Sanders last year, even after Emery was locked into LSU and Sanders was still flirting with us.

yeah... I mean, it's not like I've gone with some crazy arse hot take... That's what was so funny about the reaction there.

Interesting that they were looking at DB. I'd assume safety, with a lean toward a box stuffing run stopper? He just seems to run stiff to me and not display a lot of elusive movement, so I can't envision him having the hips to play cover corner and keep up with man coverage needs.

I've said all along, it's only my opinion and if Kirby/McGee decided they wanted him, they get paid an awful lot to know more about football than me, so I'd be fine with it... I just don't see him as being as talented as the rating, and frankly there are other backs rated much lower I'd just as soon take.

I'd be shocked if they didn't.

Yeah... LSU got a stud IMHO in Emery. I was legit bummed out about losing that one. I came around on Sanders late after a lot of watched footage, but still would have wanted Emery over Sanders. I was admittedly pretty down on Noah Cain's footage and he's supposedly had a great camp with Penn St, so obviously I'm not some infallible guru that everyone should come to about RB recruiting rankings... Just a dude with an opinion. Apparently that hurts some feelings.

Yup, safety was my understanding. And we weren't the only school that wanted him in that position.

Presumably that would have been obvious from this post...

Seems like Auburn is the most likely destination given the late rash of CBs that direction and the 2x change of decision timelines. First pushing it back to later, then now re-affirming a desire to commit earlier. But again, that's conjecture. Don't think anyone claimed otherwise.
