Jordan actually only weighed in at 248 pounds at the Combine.

Calais Campbell was listed as 6'7 225 pounds by Rivals out of HS, and 230 pounds by Scout. He weighed in at 290 pounds at 6'7 and 6/8ths at the NFL Combine. The NFL now lists him at 300 pounds.

This is what he looked like out of HS:

Ok, I'm not going to lie, if you showed me this guy and asked me to evaluate him, I would throw him a basketball. He is ridiculously thin.

Unpossible for anyone to gain that kind of weight.

Unless it's all bad weight...

Granted an audience with his highness, has he?

Nobody ever said that. He gained 60 pounds over 4 years, about 15 pounds a year.

To answer the thread's question he's definitely not a lock. Bama is in it, and he'll be at LSU all this weekend with Orgeron (good luck). Also maybe he did a quick google search on the reality behind The Blind Side and decided to make his own decisions.

You realize that his weight gain wasn't a linear increase from HS to the combine, correct?

He gained 45 lbs in 2 years at UM.

Campbell's teammates now refer to him as "MVP" because he won the team's Most Valuable Player award after contributing 80 tackles (20 for loss), 10 sacks, and three forced fumbles. In one season, Campbell transformed himself into a player opposing coaches have to prepare for. "Great players make plays no matter who the competition is or what they are up against," said Campbell, who came to Miami as a 6-foot-7, 230 pound tight end but grew an inch, gained 45 pounds and switched to defense.

O is already coaching him up

quote:

Before Orgeron met his first high school coach while wearing the purple-and-gold, he was already busy coaching up a Top 100 prospect.

"I was a little late for the meeting with them, and I walked into the room and Coach Orgeron was already on the ground teaching Tega some new defensive line moves," Edgewood Academy head coach Bobby Carr said. "It was something to see.

"I can definitely tell you that I was impressed with him."

You can joke all you want but I just figured the whole movie was found footage, finding out that wasn't actually Michael Oher in the film really threw me through a loop.

Never been an issue at least on the recruiting end, just ask Bama.
