Ignore the retard leg humpers in this thread. They're telling themselves that Dean is a game changer, but he's nothing like Roquon. Pappoe is.

Pappoe hasn't been recruited hard by UGA for a while now. He also just got downgraded. He peaked too early. Not saying he wont be good, but I dont think he will be a great LB. Probably make a decent Star position player.

He was downgraded for dumb reasons.

I have a feeling he's going to single handily shut offenses down.

We will see.

Owen is uncommitted - UGA Lock

Owen commits to Auburn - It won’t stick still going to UGA

Owen reaffirms commitment - Won’t be a great LB. UGA doesn’t want

I mean he had the highest SPARQ score of all time iirc, he’s a freak athlete and will dominate in college.

Auburn is getting a beast. Would loved to have had Owen in Athens

Well in fairness, UGA recruited Owen at the Star position. He’ll be a good player but UGA and Auburn recruited two different positions. It’s obvious he prefers ILB

Pap is a stud. Would take him in a heartbeat. He’s a freakish athlete. Once he adds size he’s going to be a monster. I suspect he starts year one.

The current thought, not mine, is that he was at Grayson for four years and really only gained about 10 pounds. Some people feel like he won't gain much wait in college.

Certainly could surprise, but yeah.. it's one thing if a kid is in podunk Georgia at a small school and struggles to put on weight... but Grayson has a HS athletic department that is not at all unfamiliar with getting and working with high caliber athletes. That he's struggled to put on any significant weight there in 4 years is a little alarming. He's an exceptional athlete and would love to have him, but I do think he'd struggle to see the field at any of the LB positions at UGA... at least early. Would have been very likely to start in a star/reserve DB capacity, possibly moving to LB after putting on weight (if successful).

What reasons were those?

He could. I still think he is an excellent player and would love to land him. I wish we were still in it for him.

I had not heard the concerns about his gaining weight. I don't know if they are true, but if they are, it would indicate more of a safety or star role. And there are worse things than having a great hard hitting safety.

FWIW, to the Auburn poster that asked about Roquan's weight? I am pretty sure he was about that size coming out of high school.

I don't remember this being the case at all. At least not on our board.

If he is not a great LB, it will be because of not gaining weight, and he would then be a great star/safety type guy. It's a win situation for whoever he ends up with him, I'd say.

Owen is a good get for AU, no one from UGA is saying otherwise but it is a fact that UGA has stopped recruiting him - for whatever reason, only the staff knows - maybe because they have given up, maybe for other reasons - we can only speculate.

Looked it up

Roquan 6’1”, 207lbs high school
(now weighs 236lbs)

Owen Pappoe 6’0” 210lbs

So the size similarities are there. Whether OP can be same type of willing tackler will be proven on the field. Can OP add the weight? Can he add and not lose his elite explosiveness? We shall see.
