I’m from Missouri, live in Missouri, attended many wrestling camps at MU etc. There is absolutely no comparison to Oklahomas NFL pedigree and that of Mizzou’s. None, not even on the same planet.

Apparently, the logic of a previous post went WAY over your head. You damn well better have a better NFL pedigree or else you are coaching players DOWN!

You have landed a considerably greater amount of 5 and 4-star recruits out of high school than Mizzou (you know the guys who are EXPECTED to go to the NFL in greater numbers than the 3-stars).

With those recruiting classes, if you didn't put more players in the NFL, it would only show that you are damaging their prospects.

Simple, simple logic. Think it through for chrissakes.

Spare us the almighty 4th round pick lmao.

When was the last time OU put a 5.5 3 star in the NFL at ANY position, let alone at DE, which is, ya know, the position of the recruit this thread is about.

You aren’t too good at research OU has had 4 DEs drafted since 2015, I think off the top of my head Isaiah Thomas, and Ronnie Perkins were both 3 stars.

Off the top of my head Ronnie Perkins was a very highly rated recruit, top 50 type kid and borderline 5 star. He’d have been a first rounder if he’d came to Mizzou

The last OU D-lineman drafted in the first 2 rounds of the NFL draft was DT Jordan Phillips in the second round in 2015. Last 1st rounder was Gerald McCoy in 2010, last DE in the first 2 rounds was Dan Cody in 2005.

They’ve had a few LBs go in the first and second recently but all 3 are smaller than Nwaneri is now as a HS Senior

You guys are missing his point because it's stupid, but he's saying that Missouri is better because our draft pick was a low 3-star and OU's multiple higher round draft picks were 4 stars or better.

I'm sorry I'd stop them from doing this shite if I could.

I think a better comparison would be to look and see what Venables has done vs what OU as a school has done. The institution isn't what produces draft picks

Venables has a lot of guys doing well in the league right now. Adebawore who they signed last year will probably be a top 2-3 round guy here in a couple of years. Nwaneri is probably going to the league no matter which school he chooses.

And to be more fair, it would be good to see Venables ability to develop elite talent. It basically rained top tier athletes during much of his stretch there so we shouldn't be surprised that many of those eventually ended up in the NFL.

Bryan Breese, Trenton Simpson, and Myles Murphy were the 3rd, 12th, and 14th ranked players in the 2020 recruiting class and all were consensus 5 stars. They went 1st round, 3rd Round, and 1st Round.

Maybe it was Venables genius or maybe it was they were highly elite athletes and that showed both at Clemson and to NFL scouts.

Probably so and thats fine, but it would be funny if he did go to OU just because your melt would be epic. You're pre-melting when you're favored to land the guy

Hes had some lower ranked guys develop too. One that sticks out is Grady Jarrett. Granted he was only a 5th round pick (though that was in large part due to his size IMO) but he was productive in college and has been a good pro despite being a 2 star on 247

Are you….an OU fan….trying to make fun of another team for a lack of defense?

That was last year it’s a new year it was year 1 . We are much improved talent wise and now have a decent backup as well. Not saying we are a toop 20 defense yet but it wouldn’t suprise me if we were . Last years defense was awful but we also didn’t have a qb who could throw a forward pass for 3 straight games so offenses had the ball a lot too…. But yes it was horrible .
