Such a fact doesn't prove anything regarding a recruiting violation at all.
It doesn't prove a recruiting violation -- but very easily could prove an ethics violation by a guy that is basically running the state's largest hospital.
There's a pretty large difference between a private company's owner hiring private citizens on his own dime -- and a representative of a state-run corporation hiring employees on public funding. The difference in scrutiny should be pretty obvious there.

By interviewing a qualified candidate who is interested in the work? Hardly.

Um, he's the chair of emergency medicine. That's not "running" a hospital at all.

Come on, DC. You know as well as I do if you are in that position you can't hire that guy. Even if he is the most qualified, it just looks way too fishy.

Interviewing? No.
Hiring is something else entirely -- and he already admitted to basically TRYING to hire him by putting in for specific grants that fit Nkemdiche's specialty.

So he didn't right?

Still waiting on the grant money to come thru... so no, not yet.
No worries though -- I'm sure it will arrive sometime between Feb and June!

So a hospital shouldn't care about hiring the most qualified candidate for job that saves people's fricking lives but instead worry about how it looks towards college football?
Some genius shite right there.

I can assure you that if RN comes to UM and his dad is hired, the NCAA will investigate. If this was Josh Willebehurt, no problem. Who??? But this is the top recruit in the nation. It will be looked at.

His qualifications and one of his sons already living in Mississippi do negate whatever fishiness you all want there to be about this.
He is a doctor who wants to be closer to his son (or, should I say, sons) so he interviewed for an open position in a job in the state that they live in. All of the dots you're connecting are dots that you want to see.

That's you seeing what you want to see.
Sunny Nkemdiche does research on heart attacks in black populations. You don't think that the chair of emergency medicine for a hospital in Jackson, Mississippi would generally be interested in such anyway?
And, let's say your narrative is indeed true, what do you think could come of it? What at all could an investigation turn up? If he is qualified for the position then there's honestly nothing that the state can do to stop him from having it. Period. Oh, and the NCAA won't touch this one at all. The last thing they want to get involved in is the employment of the families of student athletes. That'd open up a ridiculous can of worms.
Sunny Nkemdiche wants to move to Mississippi because two of his sons are soon to be living here. He wants to interview for a job. Since he's a doctor, the likelihood of him interacting with Ole Miss grads in order to get a job in Mississippi is high. That's it.

You think the NCAA gives a frick about Rivals rankings?

This "controversy" is some of the stupidest shite ever posted. Seriously.
Hospitals recruit doctors. Dr. Nkemdiche would be welcomed at a hospital anywhere in the world even if his kid was five foot nothing and 150 pounds. Stupid.

How do we know that HE wasn't the one seeking UMC out? If he knows he will move to MS, then why wouldn't he start looking for jobs?
