MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Shortly after taking to Twitter to announce that he was going to reopen his recruitment and consider other options, LSU QB commit Myles Brennan’s family received an unexpected phone call. It was Alabama QB commit Tua Tagovailoa’s family.

Tagovailoa had received an offer from LSU, which caused Brennan to reevaluate where he stood with the Tigers. There was some thought that Tagovailoa, the 5-star prospect from Honolulu, would flip his commitment if Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin took the same position for his good friend Ed Orgeron at LSU.

That was not happening, though. The Tagovailoas told the Brennans that while the offer from LSU was greatly appreciated, it wasn’t going to change his recruitment. They also told the Brennans that they shouldn’t let the offer affect their son’s commitment to LSU.

“It was kind of like an apology letter, but they didn’t need to do that,” Brennan told SEC Country at the Alabama-Mississippi all-star game check-in. “They were just letting me know that everything is fine and it wasn’t personal or anything like that. He (Tua’s father) just wanted me to still stay committed and don’t let the offer affect my recruitment.”

The Tagovailoas didn’t need to call the Brennans to let them know of their son’s plans, but they felt it was necessary because of the commotion the offer caused on social media. The families have developed a good relationship with each other as both Tua and Myles participated in the Elite 11 competition together.

“Recruiting is a business and for them to take the time to give my family a call, it really meant a lot to me and my family because they are just as busy with recruiting as we are,” Brennan said. “We really appreciated that as a family. It’s a relationship that I want to continue moving forward.

“It’s a relationship that I want to continue moving forward.”

Tua’s father, Galu, told the Brennans that if Kiffin did happen to take the job at LSU that they should give him a chance even with Orgeron’s comments about wanting dual-threat quarterbacks. Brennan is a pro-style quarterback, but Kiffin has gotten the job done before without having a dual-threat signal-caller. Just last year, Alabama won the national championship with Jacob Coker, a pro-style quarterback, under center.

“The reason why Alabama has Jalen Hurts in now is because he’s getting the job done,” Galu said to SEC Country last week. “But Lane isn’t just a dual-threat guy. He’s a pro-style quarterback guy, too. I was telling (the Brennans) that he has the ability to coach both.”

As the phone call was wrapping up, the Tagovailoas wanted to reassure the Brennans that their son was not considering LSU.

“They just told me to trust in God and let the process take care of itself,” Brennan said. “They just reemphasized that Tua was fully committed to Alabama. They said he wasn’t going to take a visit to LSU, and they just told me to stay focused and stay on track.”

The dick sucking going on between these two high school QBs is nauseating.

The respect these quarterbacks have automatically disqualifies them for any offers from Auburn.

watch them both go to Bama and Saban revolutionize the college game once again by putting both a DT Qb and Pro-style on offense at the same time with Tua and Brennan as they go on to win 4 straight titles dragging LSU and CEO by their teeth...

geez.. at this point it really wouldn't surprise me

Especially when 50% of the top rated ones suck.

Wonder if they all still have pow wows in 3 years when one or two of them is actually playing? It's really incredible how poor QB evaluation is compared to every other position.

What a classy family. Bamas absolutely stacked at QB for the next 5 years.
