Comparing what he did there, and what he can do at UF is absolutely absurd. UF has the most SEC title appearances, and tied for most SEC title game wins. UF is a power six school and a top ten job.
If you think Mullen can't do more at UF than a pathetic school like Miss State as shown by their records before he got there...then you are beyond stupid.
For every Steve Spurrier there's a Ron Zook. For every Urban Meyer there's a Will Muschamp and a Jim McElwain. Why don't you just calm down and see how Mullen plays out?

Do you honestly think Mullen will do worse in the East at Florida than he did at MSU in the West?
His tenure at MSU is impressive, and now he has the actual players and star power to do what he's always wanted to do. More support, more access to great recruits and of course a program that actually has prestige along with the location.
Everything from Academics to Facilities is a major upgrade, and amazingly enough his transition class may be better than any regular class that McElwain had.

You won't find many fans that will challenge what you said in your post. My biggest gripe with Mullen during every year he was here was his late game play calling during pivotal moments. It was absolutely mind blowing the way he called some games. He's egotistical and extremely abrasive. Thinks his way is the only way when it comes to calling games. That could very much change, but if it doesn't then you will come to see what many MSU fans were so tired of during the last couple of years.

I’m not from Mississippi nor have I ever taken a class in the state of Mississippi. But keep assuming.

Sums it up pretty well. I don't think he will do worse. Not certain he will do better either though as the Florida posters in this thread seem to think. He still has to go up against UGA and two west teams each year. He gets a break due to one of those being Orgeron (for at least another year). He's got a bigger pool to recruit from, but he's also got more competition for those recruits so we will see.

Doing that at Miss State is down right amazing
Not really.

Arkansas an Ole Miss are both better programs with more to sell to recruits
Lol like what?

The West sucked for Sherrill's time at Miss State, which is why he won the West with a lack luster 8-4 record(which Mullen would have won many years if the West sucked as it did when Jackie coached).
Weak argument. How long has the East sucked, and do you think that has contributed to Florida's success in the past 15 years?

You base your dribble off of hearsay, and don't research anything. You've proven that you really don't know what you're talking about concerning MSU.
For the record, I never said Mullen wouldn't be successful at Florida. I like his offense, despite it being too qb centric. Mullen should win the East at some point, but only because you're in the East.
Moorhead's offense will win at least as many games at State, and I personally think he will win more than Mullen, simply by design. I'm not sure what you people are going to do with yourselves when it happens.

Don't argue with them. Mullen is the second coming. He made Meyer according to them.
Posted on 1/30/18 at 6:57 pm to TJGator1215
Not one poster has said he made Meyer. Meyer is elite by Meyer's doing.
Now go back to the FSU forum and suck off a sub 500 coach.

You implied it when you keep bringing up that Meyer didn't win any and the offense fell off after he left(The offense was the same in 2009). He was also the 3-4th choice. He's an average coach and recruiter. Hes Ron ZOOK 2.0 w/o the charisma. He built up MSU beating up the poor unless we're talking about juggernaut South Alabama. Hes going to need great recruiters and coaches to cover his weaknesses. When's chip Kelly coming to UF again? Gfy.

I actually made a question, because MSU fans seem to think their football program is a lot better than it is -- along with their university. Sorry for stealing your coaches, 'cruits and athletic director.

If MSU was as good as their fans actually thought it was, we wouldn't be able to literally take everything we wanted from them. I doubt any even hesitated. Haven't seen Dan smile that big in years as he stepped off the plane chomping. He finally took the big time job.
Miss State fans will accept this eventually when they go back to 4-6 win seasons. Don't worry though. If the new coach wins like Mullen did. Another UF will take him from you. Why? Because Miss State is the worst job in the West.

Salty gator meat is bad gator meat.

How many of those title game appearances, and wins did Mullen win? Isn't he like 2-30 against ranked teams?

What was the MSU QB ranked coming out of HS when Mullen offered him?

It's pretty hilarious that MSU fans are talking about salt when there are like 3 or 4 threads started by MSU fans about our new HC and how bad he was.

That's like asking Vanderbilt fans why their coach didn't have any titles from any point after 2006.
He doesn't have any titles because he's playing against 3 championship level teams every single year.
This year alone he played against 2 CFP teams and both teams in the SEC CG but with substantially less talent.
LSU, Alabama and Auburn all recruit in or around the top ten in the country. MSU has an in-state rival that's on probation for recruiting violations.
Vanderbilt won't win a championship of any kind in the East -- and not because they haven't had a good coach, but because they're basically fighting with one hand tied behind their back and their legs bound at the knees as they desperately hop around with a blunted knife while the other person has a spear.
When the ranked teams you're playing regularly have a 15 slot recruiting advantage of you (at times 20), you're bound to lose a lot more games than you win.

Google. It's not hard to get proper stats, just shows you don't know what you are talking about. Seriously. Open new tab. Google.com. Find answer. Then post.
He was at Miss State. The Vandy of the West. If you can't understand why that is the exact reason, then you aren't the brightest. Miss State has a ceiling. Mullen was the ceiling. You can't do better than he did there. Sherrill won the West, in an 8-5 year. Not exactly impressive and only indicates he faced a very easy SEC West.
Now Mullen has a real program. Now we can start judging him with titles, because he is at a program that can win them. Not even Saban could win at Michigan State. Should say all we need to know.
