I just saw three quarterbacks transferring to MSU for 2021! I am guessing they are going to be competing for the starting job in 2021? That must be awesome! I am wondering why Drinkwitz isn't doing the same thing? Am I missing something?

Not your typical walk ons
Jack Abraham started 2.5 years at Southern miss
Chance Lovertich led MS gulf coast cc to a juco National championship and started 2 games at South AL this past season.
Both were on scholarship at their previous school both MS kids who wanted a shot at playing in the SEC.

They all have playing experience, with the former Southern Miss starter probably the most talented. Nice to have as emergency Qb veterans. My guess is at least 1-2 of them know they aren’t going to play much longer so they’re coming to learn a system from leach to get into coaching.

If everything goes according to plan, none will see any significant playing time.
Leach is having to rebuild the QB room after losing 3 QBs to graduation/transfer. As it stands now, there’s only one returning QB on scholly (unless Costello stays)

It’s called Leach magic...

Abraham would be #2 on both our rosters last month.

There’s also the potential that Robertson is drafted early in the MLB draft.

I highly doubt he signs in the current climate of baseball farm operations. I think his ceiling for football his much higher than for baseball. Regardless of school choice, going to school and starting your degree and getting 3+ years of development is an easy decision imo.

Not a draft risk.

The last two transfers worked out well for them.

At least one broke an SEC record.
