I still have not seen anyone hit on one of the biggest issues of the Darius Philon mess. Did any of you Saban bashers notice that Darius still has not had surgery on his knee? I guess not. By not having his knee worked on yet, Saban had no rehab report or info on how long it will take to get him back to full speed. If the kid is not willing to do his part to make sure he was ready to go ASAP why should the coach be expected to take such a gamble?

His coach said he had surgery in December, doing well and has 'good flexibility'.

If that is the case then good for him. Guess I will have to question the person that told me otherwise. While that does bother me a little more about choices that were made in Tuscaloosa, I do understand what was done.

I hope Darius does well at Arky.

"I don't think it will have a big effect, not in Mobile," said St. Paul's coach Steve Mask, a 30-year

Yeah been head coach all of about four weeks

It hurt, how much, who knows but you will not see suicide bama kids again for a while, at least from the African American community.

BTW, McGill and St Pauls (UMS Wright)are the private schools for the elite, not exactly best sources for how this will effect recruiting. All our blue chips are scholly players.

Maybe they should talk to the coach of the Municipal Raiders instead.

Are you worried? Why do you think that's important enough to post if you aren't worried?

Why are you debunking the myth that Philon hadn’t had surgery with facts? It’s was one of the justification "defenses" some Bama fans like to float out there but now you have taken that away from them. Hater.

I don't see why it's such a big deal anyway. He's a three star player and we had better players that wanted to come too, in every situation the best candidate usually gets the job. Plus it's not like he couldn't come at all he was just asked to wait a few months. He obviously didn't REALLY wanna play for Bama because if he did he just would have taken the gray shirt and been happy.

I don't mean to bahs Saban, but its pretty shitty to pull a scholie late on a kid that was hurt, if the injury concerned them, they should have told him the offer was conditional on his knee checking out. sounds like a cop out anyway to cover for the fact they got 2 higher rated guyd to committ and someone had to go.

no, you do not tell some one they have a job, and the recind the offer because some one better comes a long. These are HS kids, not paid pros. If Saban wants to just cut players because someone better comes along he should go back to the NFL.

Yeah, why not interview coach Stevenson from Vigor and get his take on it. Would have also like to hear what Coach Riley's opinion on this, Davidson has been producing more and more talent over the years.....

McGill has never really been notorious for producing talent year in and year out. When I played there we sucked but my senior year, we turned it around.Coach Nemeith came in and got our program going in the right direction in 1999 and we reached the second round of the playoffs but no one from our team got any attention from big name schools. The guy who really elevated McGill was Steve Savarese(2004-2006).

Stevenson has already given his take several times on the situation. He stands firmly behind Alabama.

Ah, got ya. Josh Bean could have done a better job clarifying that in his article though.

The point of his article was obvious. Another attempt to write a negative piece on Alabama. However, I posted this article last week because of the quotes from Mobile area coaches.
