And it’s happening - see NLRB decision re: USC players just this week.

Nothing has changed except another attempt by the NLRB who is being pushed by the unions. This has nothing to do with athletes what you are speaking to. The Board Chair was appointed to the chair of NLRB by Biden.

The NLRB has been a mess as the political power shifts with who controls it. California is the testing ground for what you are talking about because how far left it swings. But just because it starts there does not mean it will ever leave the state to gain any traction.

Yeah, we’ll see. I’m not very optimistic in that regard

You've got to be kidding. You can probably count on your hand the # of players on each SEC team. The best football in the country is played in the Southeast. No need to go to those areas when they are a dime a dozen down here.

"There have been plenty of talented kids leaving midwestern and northeastern states for the SEC schools and many of them don’t even get seriously recruited by local schools because most coaches already know what matters in these recruitments. We can all pretend everyone plays by the same rules but we don’t."

But if you think I’m wrong you haven’t been paying attention.

I think everyone’s biggest issue with your statement is the insinuation that Ohio St hasn’t been doing exactly the same thing. Maybe your smaller Big10 schools didn’t but Michigan, Penn St and Ohio st have always paid players.

The fact that you don’t think Ohio State wasn’t doing the same thing is ducking hilarious.

Ohio St has been pulling highly rated talent out of Atlanta and GA fairly regularly since Urban started there.

Now, why would that be if the only allure was the school and the nice weather?

I mean shite, look what is happening right now. Osu, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa etc have minimal to no presence in the NIL arena. This just isn’t a thing big ten schools were ready or wanting to do
Good. I hope you don't use NIL and we beat the brakes off of you.

Is this guy saying that these kids and their people are all of a sudden putting eyes on the NIL contracts and just now not liking them? I can’t imagine they commit based on some handshake understanding of the NIL deals.. I can’t claim to know how the process works but these kids have to be completely stupid not to have drafts of the NIL deals in hand to compare to others loooong before signing day comes around. It seems hard to believe these deals have not already been vetted many months ago but this sleazeball is trying to get some last minute digs at his competitors.

Oh no everything is fricked up now that they took the amateurism out of collegiate athletics, you don't say?

I will start giving a shite again when they make them qualify with the regular students. These idiots need a minor league system if they want to get paid.

This is a huge cultural divide. I mean, let’s be honest - the Sec has been doing this kind of thing illicitly for years. NIL - even though it’s more money and somewhat more transparent - is not a giant shift.

frick right off. The B1G is responsible for the 5 or 6 biggest scandals in college sports the past 2 decades and you think paying players is where the line is drawn
