Going back on my word is something I never imagined myself doing and it hurts me to do it, but in end I have do what's best for me.

Matt Rolin ?@USC_9

That being said. I would like to let everyone know that I have decommited from The University of South Carolina.

I would like to thank the Carolina coaches an fans for all the support and hope you understand that I prayed about this an it's best for me

Hate to lose him but gotta wish him well. It's a head-scratcher for most Gamecock fans. His grandfather played ball here, he had been a strong commit since last May, both of his grandparents are alumni, he's been wearing Gamecock jerseys every day of his life it seems - hell, he grew-up a Gamecock fan.

I just don't get it, but we all wish him well.

He's a big time linebacker.

Yes. UF had monetary interest in Johnson. We are trying to get bigger at LB, so he was a couple of slots down the board. He is the type of LB Urban loves though.

a tall skinny white guy, 209lbs, who runs a 4.8 40. sounds like a winner

Bigger frame. Johnson is practically maxed out. Really good player though.

Fair enough; figured that's what you meant, but I think 230 is a good size for a college lber. I would rather he was 240 of course but getting him in at 220-225 you can build 5-10 pounds.

I hate UF, but this may help us in the long run

Yes. In Muschamp's scheme, he wants LB's that can play all 4 positions. Meaning he wants everyone crosstrained, and guys that have the size to rush the passer and sustain blocks on the edges when teams are running against us. If Meyer was still at UF, no doubt Johnson would be really high on our board. Kid is a machine on the field.
